Chapter 1 Encounter

Hey guys, hope that you enjoy this chapter. I plan to have a character list at the beginning of every chapter for you guys to see who is in the chapter. [Meric's POV]

"Hello we are here to speak with Alpha Meric." Said a mans voice that I didn't recognize.

"Yes I'll go get Meric." Said my sister, Tresa. She was trying to sound formal which made me smile at the thought because she was the complete opposite. I hear her guide them into the living room when she ran into Luke, the beta of the pack. She asks him to tell me someone was here to see Meric.

I grabbed my jeans out of my dresser and grabbed my grey tee-shirt out of the closet ad threw them on my bed, I was still in my pajamas because I had only awoken fifteen minutes ago. Usually I was up before anyone in pack excluding the guards that were patrolling the area of the pack 24/7.

I had already finished applying a small amount of make up, which included some eyeliner and mascara. I had my hair naturally straight today instead of its usual position in a ponytail. My sister was always envious that I could spend two minutes getting ready instead of an hour and a half. Most girls I knew thought that it was weird that I was a female and I didn't want to spend time curling my hair and applying a lot of makeup like my sister, but I thought it was a waste of time to I didn't do it.

I threw my clothes on and my grey sneakers before opening my door that lead down a hallway. Luke was standing on the stop stair. He looked over at me and gave me a smile. He was on the phone making pack calls. He starts to say something to me, but I nod my head and he understands.

Luke and I had always been best friends ever since we were pups. As we grew older people always told us that women and men can't be only friends and there was always something more. Luke was always like a big brother to me and for a few years Luke even called me Sis. So there was no reason to think too much about it.

I head down the stairs. I turn right once I reach the bottom. I head towards the living room where Tresa most likely left them waiting. I walk in and see two men sitting on the couch, facing away from me and talking.

"Hello. How may I help you?" I ask with a friendly smile unsure if they're allies or enemies.

"Hello my name is John and this is my son, Carter. We are here to speak with Alpha Meric." He says standing up shaking my hand and giving me a friendly smile. I respond confused that they don't know who I am, "Um, I am Alpha Meric."

[Lincoln]

"Nate get in the truck!" I yelled trying and hoping he gets in the truck quickly.

"Calm down Bro." He says getting in the passenger side of the truck.

"I'm not going to calm down we are late and dad is going to kill us." I say starting the engine and beginning to drive quickly down the dirt road that leads down to the main road.

"What's the big deal?"

"What's the big deal? Did you forget that our family was meeting Alpha Meric today and we are an hour late."
"What's the big deal you are an alpha too?"
"The big deal is that our pack is small in numbers and we don't need Alpha Meric are enemies. Also, I am not Alpha yet. Dad hasn't passed down the responsibility
"He should for hell's sake your 19 and a half already." He responded

"You know how he fells. He wants me to find my mate before I become alpha. He thinks that it will be better if there is always a Alpha and a Luna to take care of a pack."
"That's stupid." Nate says rolling his eyes before looking out the window.

I completely agreed I was more than capable for the job of alpha, but dad didn't like that and dad always gets his way.

"Will you please put on some clothes? We are trying to make and impression of Alpha Meric's pack not show them your underwear." I said rolling my eyes laughing at the fact that I even had to ask.

[Meric]

"Bu-bu-but your a girl" said the son of John I think he said that his name was Carter. I silently laughted at stutter and bluntness.

"Yes, I am a also the only feamal Apha ever."

John spoke up now with Carter who's eyes were in shock. "I'm so sorry Alpha Meric for my son. You cna see that m--"
"It's fine Alpha John. No need to aplogize. I get that quite often, actually."
Suddenly teh door threw open and Luke can in with a look of pur terror on his face.

"Meric, your brothers were seen in the Costal Terrirory." he said out of breath and slightly blushing from running.

"What?" I asked

"The boys are in enemy territory."
