Alpha Meric's Mate (On Hold)

Chapter 3 Meeting

"Does anyone have a large range of medical medical background and at least 5 years of experience?" She asked the crowd with an attractive edge to her voice.

Before I even realized what I was saying my hand raised slightly in the air "I do!" I yelled trying to be heard over the crowd.

Once our eyes met there was no denying that she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen. Her grey eyes were enthralling and had me in captured. I could feel every ones stares on me, but it didn't seem to bother me one bit. It felt like we were the only two people in the wolf, heck maybe the universe in that second. 

My wolf was going ragged screaming and yelling at me something that I didn't recognize for a second. The word that would change my life forever and give me the chance to be with the girl that I would love for the rest of my life.

Making sure not to lose my composure in front of anyone I held my head higher and nodded towards my mate not knowing the name of blue eyed man. 

"Okay keep by my side at all times we are going to need you." I said closing off my wolf and my heart at the same time. I had to keep my head going in one direction saving my brothers was my top priory  right now no matter how much it hurt me to stay away from my mate. 

"Make sure that he is in the best battle gear as possible. We don't know his level of skill yet and I will not have someone not under my care be injured. I said turning away from him and talking mostly to Luke, who ran off quickly doing as he was told. I would show more compassion toward my mate, but if anyway was against me in the packs I didn't want any harm to happen to my mate.

Some people chose not to have battle gear and they would rather fight in their wolf form, but half the time you can't fight in your wolf form and I would rather have some amount of protection then be completely naked. The battle gear also helped against any type of bullet including silver. 

I had all of my packs go out into their groups and I had the women and children in their rightful place by the time I was done with talking to the crowd. 

As soon as Luke came out of the pack house with the battle gear I took it from him and asked him to go make sure that everyone was ready and in their positions.

"I just have to talk to the new guy as to what has to be expected. I will be outside soon." he noded and made his way to the outskirts of the forest motioning for the fighters and medical personal to follow him. As he did so my mate made his way over to me and I pulled him inside the pack house.

As soon as he closed the door behind us I started with what I had to say, "I'm sorry that you got me to be your mate. I might be more normal if I didn't have a hundred different responsibilities going on 24/7. Not only that, but now my brothers are missing and they are the ones who are supposed to be Alpha, but they can't until they turn 19... and .... I started to hyperventilate with my brain running a milling miles a minute. 

The next thing I new I was pulled into his chest and he was rubbing small circles into my back.

"Deep breath in...

Deep breath out...

It's going to be okay. Everything is going to be fine your brothers will be okay, we will get them back. And as for you saying sorry for being my mate don't be. I know that you are worried about your family right now and I understand. We will be okay. We can keep us quiet for as long as you need. I will be there when ever you need me."

I looked up at my mate to believing what I was hearing. He was 100 percent there for me and I didn't even know his name. I looked into his deep blue eyes and I felt all of my stress fall away from me. It was like I was at home and safe standing there in his embrace looking at those eyes. 

Not realizing what I was doing I leaned into him more and he did the same. His perfect, plump, pink lips meeting mine. He tasted like mint and smelled like Pine needles and drift wood, a pure man smell.  As the kiss gets more heated we both pull away trying to catch our breath. 

"You.... Should go.... change into.... the battle gear..." I said in between breaths blushing slightly

He nodded and pecked me on the lips before disappearing behind the bathroom door that was behind us. I stood there and waited for him to get changed. When he was done he came up and stood next to me grabbing my hand.

"Stay close to me. The packs make sure that I am heavily guarded even if I don't want to be. They will guard you because your a medical personal, but not enough people will guarding you." He smirked and kissed me on the cheek.

"I'll be fine. Trust me." He let go of my hand and lead me outside to where the rest of the packs were waiting.
