"Actually, who are you doing?" She questioned with a bitter smirk on her face.

Bullseye!

I internally smirked at her reaction. She thinks I'm a pig. I'm a cheater. The hurt look on her face screams how she has bought this whole façade of mine.

Yes, it's a façade.

I called Jenna, Sara's best friend and asked her a favour. I want Chloe to think I'm cheating on her so that she'll return to London without even an ounce of romantic feelings for me. All she'll remember me as is the asshole who cheated on her. The man who played her.

I'll break her heart before she breaks mine.

I won't allow her to get the satisfaction of thinking how she played me. How she used me to satisfy herself and then when she was bored, she returned to her 'fiancé'. Oh no. No one messes with me and doesn't get their payback. Be it the woman I'm absolutely in love with.

I'll admit, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. Our mindless rants, our short strolls around Central Park, our club nights, our cooking dates and our endless activities in bed. If she can ignore all of my care and love towards her and go freely in the arms of her 'lover boy', the least I can do is put on a show.

"Who is she?" Chloe asked, bringing me out of my trance.

"I'm Jenna." Jenna introduced herself.

"I ain't talking to you. If you please, would give us a moment." Chloe said, her voice surprisingly calm. Jenna left the room to us. Chloe took a seat on the couch and I followed her shortly.

"Why?"

"It's simple Chloe, if you can have more than one love interest at a time, I can fuck more than one girl at a time."

"Is that what I was to you? Just a girl you're fucking? Whatever happened to the Adam who referred to it as 'making love'? And for your information, I don't have anyone except for you."

"Joesph?" I questioned.

"What about him?" Trying to be clueless now.

"I know you met him this afternoon."

"Your point being?" She questioned with a 'so-what' attitude in her voice.

"Stop playing the innocent card with me Chloe. What was the purpose of having lunch with him? Please enlighten me." I said bitterly.

"Contrary to what you believe, the meeting we had included him informing me about his father's declining health and me refusing to marry him." She said, surprising me.

"You didn't think about talking to me? You just downright cheated. You assumed the worst of me, Adam. You should've asked me about it first, before making any stupid, careless moves. You know, the worst part, you were with me for whole three months. We were with each other for more than 5 hours each and every day. I opened upto you fully. Till yesterday, scratch that, till this afternoon, you were the only person I can swear by who knows me. Adam, I had started loving you. I didn't even realised when but I fell for you so hard, my heart didn't even allowed my brain the time to think. Earlier, I though I could marry Joseph even though I don't have feelings for him but now that I love you, now that I've been with you, I was gonna call off the wedding. Despite all of this, you misunderstood a normal lunch meet and considered it worthy enough to jeopardise our whole relation." She angrily completed.

"What relation? You never even agreed on being my girlfriend." I counter argued.

"Did you ask? The only two times you said that was before we attended Rose's party. The discussion of labelling our feelings never came up. If you had asked me, I would've said 'yes' without even thinking." I opened my mouth to say anything but couldn't.

"You know I came here to ask you to accompany me to London. I wanted to introduce you to my parents. I wanted to put a name to our relationship. I wanted to do right by you. I was going to visit Joseph's parents with you and explain that since I'm in a 'relationship' with you, I cannot marry their son." She said emphasising 'wanted' and air quoting the word 'relationship'.

"I was ready to go against my parents' wish to be with you but you know what, Adam Stalin, you aren't worth it." She said and before I could reply, she stormed out of my study.

Adan, Ava and Jenna soon entered my study. Ava and Adan have been here ever since we planned the whole scene. The three of them were pretty against it but I was reluctant.

"What have I done?" I questioned myself and before I knew it, Ava had engulfed me into a hug.

"I'm sorry, big bro." She said and soon Adan and Jenna hugged us too.

"It'll all be fine." Jenna said and I shook my head negative.

"It's not. I fucked up real bad this time." I said and the meaning of my actions started sinking in.
