You woke up to the sound of arguing coming from the living area not far from your bedroom. You groaned and looked at the small clock on your bedside table; 7:30 am. You fell into your pillows and grabbed at your hair as the noise was not getting any quieter, it was probably getting louder. Seeing as there was no point trying to go back to sleep, you tip-toed out of your room, they never argue when you're around so to hear them, you can't be heard or seen.
"This mission is far too dangerous for her!" Steve's voice rang out as you leaned against the door of the front room.
"She's not a child, Steve," Tony sassed back.
"Yeah, if anything goes wrong she'll whoop his ass," Clint agreed. Steve sighed loudly and you heard him pace around.
"I just don't trust him, what if he manipulates her and manages to escape? What if he hurts her?" You felt offended how Steve could think so low of you.
"She can handle one god, it's sort of rude how you think she can be manipulated especially after her encounter with HYDRA," Natasha retorted.
"I know but..."
"Funny how you would never say this to her face," Tony interrupted.
"Yeah, (Y/N) can handle pretty much anything,"
"But what happened with HIVE, I don't think I can trust her anymore," There was a long silence after that and you felt tears pricking your eyes.
"That was cold," Tony spoke after long, tense moments. "That wasn't her fault,"
"And it's not my fault she's an Inhuman,"
"Steve!" Natasha shouted, most likely slapping his arm.
"Listen, Rogers, around her, you may act like she's your daughter, but if she ever heard this, what do you think her reaction would be?" Tony quizzed.
"I...She will never hear this,"
"(Y/N), you can come through," What? How did he know you were...J.A.R.V.I.S. You glanced up at the camera in the corner of the hall before you pushed through the doors, eyes sore and puffy. Natasha looked shocked but still moved over to hug you.
"Don't listen to him, he's just an ass," She mumbled in your ear but you shoved her off.
"No, he's right. I'm an 'Inhuman'," You growled. Everyone knows you hate being called 'Inhuman' you feel ostracized from everyone else and you've told them that yet he still called you one. Steve walked towards you but you ran away before he could get near you.
"Well done, Rogers,"
"You knew she was there, why didn't you tell me?"
"She should hear what you truly think of her," Tony stood along with his partner for his current mission. "Well, Romanov and I are going to the underground to finish up what we started yesterday," He wiped his hands and Natasha stood up, giving Steve and disappointed look.
"C'mon Sparkles," Clint said to Thor as they both left, not making eye contact with Steve.
"...I'll start up the quin jet," Bruce said, tucking out of the space and away from him. He sighed and ran a hand down his face. Loki came through and looked between Steve and all his other teammates leaving.
"Should I-"
"Don't talk to me," He growled before Loki could finish. He shrugged at Steve's response and resumed the book you gave him. Steve eyed the book in his hands before turning around and going to Bruce. Once knowing Steve was gone, you returned to the living space and then walked to the kitchen adjacent to it.
