...where to begin...

IT WAS TIME FOR KIERNAN TO START... her new adventure, but she had no idea where to start. There was no guide to tell her where to go and she hoped that the owl would have stayed behind to lead the way. It flew away faster than the wind itself.

After receiving the letter, going to Hogwarts was all the girl could think about. Who could blame her? It IS the most beautiful place, but she doesn't know that yet. As the girl tried to brainstorm some ideas on how to get to this so-called "School of magic", she continuously went over the letter, trying to find anything that may be familiar to her. She had only hoped to find a starting point when something she had recognized caught her attention, after she had looked at it half a dozen times. It was the crest. But where had she seen it before?

The girl paced back and forth around the room when she had realized where she saw the symbol before. 'It was on Tobi's uniform', she thought to herself. She knew exactly what to do next.

Kiernan quickly pulled out her phone, noticing the excessive amount of text messages and phone calls that she had from her father; she continued to ignore them.

The girl dialed her very close friend's number and held her phone closely, up to her ear, with her fingers crossed in hopes that her dear friend would pick up. Thankfully, she did.

'H- hello?' Tobi said. She sounded as if she just woke up. She had just woken up after a very rough night with lingering memories of how Alexander Margaux had treated her. She did not mention the dispute to her friend.

'Are you like a witch or something?' Kiernan said, subtly not being her strong suit.

The girl was at a loss for words for a few moments before she could figure out what to say. 'I'm assuming that you finally received your letter?'

The girl sat down on her hotel room bed, her face was plastered with a state of confusion. 'Y-you knew? And you didn't tell me!' Confusion vastly turned to anger.

'Kiernan, I wasn't allowed to. Or else I would have. It wasn't safe for you yet.' Tobi instantly regretted the words that slipped through her mouth. She was never known to be the best at secret keeping. Everyone who knew her, figured that out pretty quickly. 'Forget what I just said. I'll be on my way to the hotel to get you and then we can make our way to the Hogwarts express train.'

Tobi had eagerly hung up the phone, making certain that her friend couldn't pry the truth out of her. It was too soon for Kiernan to learn about her dark past.

Kiernan spent the rest of her time, in her hotel room, packing up what little belongings she had and making sure that she was ready to go. Her mind drifted off to the messages her father had left her; he truly missed her, at least that is what the girl had thought. She wondered whether or not she should leave him a goodbye letter. Would he catch her there and force her to stay? Was she going to have a proper escape plan? Could she truly just leave her father behind after seeing him as depressed as he had sounded in her voicemails? These are all of the things that went through her head as she was getting ready to leave, until she remembered how he had treated her throughout her life. She knew, more than anything, that her life with him was something that she never wanted to experience again. The girl even thought about how many professors and staff would treat her kinder than her own father had for the past, nearly, 16 years of her life.
