Always (sequel to Forever)

Chapter Four

A/N: Since I made you guys wait so long I thought I'd give you two chapters this upload. Enjoy chapter four! :) 

The next morning Brittany woke up and took Bella downstairs to stay with Carmen during the day like she usually does and made her way to work. She went through the motions like a robot and everyone could tell there was something wrong with the bubbly blonde. Half way through the day Brittany's boss sent her home and told her to rest. When Brittany went to pick up Bella Carmen pulled her inside.

"Brittany, what's this I hear about Santana going away for a while?" Carmen could tell something was wrong this morning when Brittany dropped Bella off.

"Santana and I broke up. I have no idea where she is before you ask." Brittany had tears rolling down her face.

"Why don't I keep Bella for the night? Go relax."

"I don't deserve to relax. I broke up with her, you shouldn't even be being nice to me!"

"I think you need some time to figure your shit out and get your girl back" Carmen put her hand on Brittany's shoulder and sent her on her way upstairs. When Brittany was finally upstairs she threw her keys across the room and dropped to her knees sobbing. She didn't know how long she was on the floor sobbing before she felt someone wrap their arms around her.

"Britt, what's going on?" It was Quinn, not the person she was hoping for, but she had lost that person because she was so stupid. "Rachel called me last night saying Santana showed up at the apartment sobbing and that you broke up with her. What happened?"

"My parents are getting a divorce. Everything I've ever known feels like a lie! They never fought, they were always so in love and now they just divorced! I don't want to stay with Santana and then years down the line meet the same fate! I don't want to do that to her! I don't want her to get more attached to what we have just to break her heart! So I did it now when it won't hurt as much." Quinn was rubbing Brittany's back as she started sobbing again.

"Britt, you and Santana aren't like everyone else. The love you two share is like no other. There is nothing Santana wouldn't do for you and there's nothing you wouldn't do for her. You won't break up years down the line you two are soulmates. Now get your ass up and go get your girl back!" Brittany scrambled up and ran out the door while Quinn ran down stairs to let Carmen know what was going on.

After Brittany broke up with Santana she couldn't handle being in the same town as her so she decided to go visit Kurt and Rachel. She had been in Kurt and Rachel's apartment for about an hour giving Kurt his gifts and just talking before Rachel walked in.

"Oh my gosh! Santana! You're here" Rachel gasped

"Yeah I couldn't be in Lima with Brittany there."

"Well I happen to have gotten Kurt and I an awesome job and you could join!" Rachel jumped excitedly.

"Sweet! I'm in!" Santana stood up and hugged her friend. After getting all situated they piled out of the apartment to head to their job. Santana was pretty excited, she was going to be Mrs. Clause. She really just wanted to get her mind off of Brittany, she hadn't left her thoughts at all since she broke up with her. She just wants to be with her for Christmas. God did she miss her. But she was going to be Mrs. Clause and hopefully make a bunch of kids happy.

To Rachel Santana seemed pretty happy considering everything going on. Her and Brittany seemed so solid. She didn't understand why she'd break up with Santana. Santana treats that girl like a damn queen. It just made no sense to her at all.

After a while of just watching Santana and being in her own head she heard her phone beeping.

"Hey Kurt, I'm getting a call, I'll be right back."

Britt?

Are you with Santana?

Yes. Why?

I need to talk to her.

Brittany is that really the best idea? She's hurting. You broke up with her.

I know I did and I was stupid. I'm dealing with some things and I shouldn't have pushed her out. God I can't believe I did this to her. Quinn said she went to New York to stay with you and Kurt for the holidays. So I came here and you guys are gone. Please Rachel. Where are you?

We're at the mall. Come get your girl back.

Thanks Rach

After getting off the phone with Brittany, Rachel went back to help Santana and Kurt. She had decided not to tell Santana and let it be a surprise.

"Hey, who was on the phone?" Kurt whispered

"It was Brittany"

"What!" Kurt screamed making everyone look their way.

"Kurt! Be quiet!" Rachel whisper yelled and slapped Kurt on the arm

"Why is Brittany calling you?" He looked over at Santana who seemed happy with all the kids.

"She's in New York. She wants to see Santana"

"What?! Santana can't have that! She's hurting, Rachel!" Kurt's face got red.

"She wants to get back together with her. She made a mistake. If Quinn made a mistake I'd want Santana to tell her where I was so she could make it better. You would want the same if it were you and Blaine." Rachel defended

"I guess you're right. I hope Santana is okay." Kurt ended the conversation.

Santana had seen Rachel walk off earlier with a phone call and she was gone for quite a while. Now her and Kurt are being all weird and whispering. She'd have to ask them about that later. She had thought they had way more time left of their shift but Rachel told everyone they were done for the day and everyone dispersed. Santana was really confused until she noticed someone who didn't leave.

"Britt."

Brittany felt so stupid. She broke up with Santana because her parents broke up. She really thought it would save them future heartache but really it just caused horrible heartache now, she can't live without Santana and she desperately needed to get her back. Rachel has pulled some strings to help her out. Rachel had got the crowd to go and it was just her left.

"Britt" Santana had tears in her eyes, she felt horrible.

"Santana." Brittany made her way towards the love of her life.

"What are you doing here?"

"Santana, I was so stupid. I shouldn't have pushed you out. I can't live without you, I love you. I'm just so upset. I thought I'd save us the heartache and just do it now. My parents are getting separated. I feel like everything I've ever known is a lie and I don't want that to be us." Brittany wiped Santana's tears away with the pads of her thumbs.

"Britt, you could've told me. We could've talked about this."

"I know but I'm stupid and pushed you away. I'm sorry Santana. I'm so sorry." Brittany was now sobbing

"Look at me." Santana said firmly and put her hands on each side of Brittany's face. "You are not stupid. Don't ever call yourself that. I know you're scared. I love you Britt" Santana kissed Brittany softly on the lips.

"I love you too." Brittany whispered and hugged Santana tightly.

"Let's go home Britt." Santana kissed her girlfriend once more and pulled her towards the exit so they could get back to Lima.
