Akuma No Kage: Season 4

Chapter 2: Another Friend Lost...

Itami wore his helmet again, leaning against a wall, peeking around the corner. It was daylight outside. Jiyu was right beside Itami, ready to unsheath his katana at any time. Then, Jiyu looked over to the corner of the building that they were inside of. Shadows began to gather there, until they formed a figure, with beautiful, long braided hair. Then, she spoke, "Jiyu... You let me die... Why couldn't you save me...? Is it simply because you didn't love me? Did you want to but you were too weak...? Yes, that's what it was... You were simply too weak... You weren't even strong enough to save your dear friend, no... You weren't even strong enough to save your lover! You foolish cowardly child!" He merely continued to stare as such harsh statements were thrown at him, then he snapped out of the hallucination as he heard Itami snap and speak in an aggitated tone, "Jiyu... Wake up... Let's go, we're clear now! Hurry up!" He nodded as soon as he snapped out of it, and the two began running away from the building, where an enourmous horde of zombies was, walking in the opposite direction from the one which Itami and Jiyu were going in. Is it just me... Or does it seem like these hordes are getting bigger really fast... They've just kept getting bigger and bigger... It's unexplainable... He thought to himself as he grunted, catching his breath a bit while he ran behind Itami. Then, as Jiyu caught a glance over Itami's shoulder, more shadows gathered and Jiyu stopped running. There were 4 shadows in all. They all stood beside each other. The first, who had short hair, and was short, resembling Deatta spoke, "You damn arrogant, selfish fool... You let her die so you could live... So you didn't have too... Pathetic..." Then, the one beside her who resembled Renji spoke, "Your horrible... You let your best friend die... You stupid fool..." Then, after it finished it's sentence, the one beside it spoke, who resembled Shokan, "You're too stupid... and now it affected those around you..." Then, the one who was beside it who resembled Akatsuki spoke, "You... If you're not even strong enough to save your lover... Then there's no way in hell that you can save the world... Tft, weakling...  I expected better of you, you only bring shame to this team... I'm blind and I can still see that better than you can, you ignorant, oblivious unfit weakling..." Then, everything went back into place as Itami called out Jiyu's name, in the same aggitated tone as earlier. Jiyu was still running behind him. He nodded, having snapped out of it. Then, he looked up to see it. The massive building, almost five times as big as the base he had previously stayed in. It was Red Lights' base. "Jiyu... I can't enter inside of there... I'm supposed to be dead... I cannot yet return to the team... Please, forgive me for this, however..." Itami said, looking down a bit. Jiyu grabbed him by the collar of his cloak, pulling him close by it, then spoke in a fierce voice, "You come get me after my best friend dies, pick me up and save me from death, only to have my suffer more by telling me the story of her past and how all that shit happened, then just leave me here like this...? Although, I've got no room to talk... That's pathetic... Be a real brother... A real captain... Please, don't leave me again... For us, don't leave us again..." Itami now looked up at his brother, who he had used to look down upon. Though, Jiyu couldn't see it, Itami slightly smiled, and spoke softly, "Look at yourself... It seems like only a week ago you were inches shorter than me, not able to defend yourself and helpless... But now here you are, taller than me and sticking up for the team... I'm proud to call you my brother... You've really grown up... and, fine... I'll stay... I'll stay for the team, and I won't leave again, not for anything, even if ends me..." Jiyu smiled, then replied, "Good... We should go in now..." Itami nodded and the two began walking towards the massive building.

Shokan, Yugure, Akatsuki, Itami, Deatta, Renji, Lee, and Jiyu all stood around the fire which was kept on the table in the middle of the area. They were outside and it was dark out. Then, Renji began speaking, "I've known Yami since she joined this team... Though, I know not of the suffering which she had to go through, I do know that she brought great joy within our lives... I wish her forever peace and joy in the afterlife..." Then, everybody bowed their heads, as Deatta began speaking, "Yami was my friend, who I could talk to about anything... I loved her like a sister, and considered her one as well, without her I doubt we will ever be the same Akuma No Kage again... May you rest in peace, my sister... I love you and wish you farewell..." They all bowed their heads again. Then, Shokan began speaking, "Although I did not know Yami for long, I could realize that she brought the gift of happiness and joy to Akuma No Kage, and I think that you would have to be a fool to not notice something as obvious as this... I wish her good luck from this world to her own..." Everybody bowed their heads. Then, Akatsuki spoke, "At first, I thought I had Yami figured out, but then I'd found out that I'd decieved myself, and continued to think I'd found her out again and again and again, but now I will never truly find out who this great person really was... This is a true shame, but I wish great luck to the only human being I could never figure out..." Everybody bowed their heads. Then, Itami began speaking, "I am a great fool, and I'm simply too weak to be called a captain... I have known Yami for a long long time, before the team got going, I recruited her... I found her... I cherished her presence, and when seeing how she treated Jiyu... Brought comfort to my life, knowing my little brother was in good hands, She reminded me of two people I loved very dearly, It is of the greatest shames that she is no longer with us physically, but I do believe that she will always be with us within our hearts... I will always remember Yami as a great soldier, fighter, and all around friend... May she rest in great peace..." Everybody bowed their heads, as Jiyu began speaking, "I let Yami die... Although I wish I could cry and cry about it, I know she would hate to see me in such pain, so I shall hold my strength for her with an iron will. For her and only for her. Though, in darkness and in light... In sickness and in thunder... In death and in life... I'll always remember Yami as somebody no one can replace... Somebody I cared for... Somebody who cared for me, Somebody who loved me, Somebody who I could trust, Somebody who was... My sanity... My teacher... and my greatest friend of all time, who I will always remember... By now, I've come to learn that this place is a cruel, cruel world. I also believe that if there is a god... He's a damn cruel person... Though, I mustn't keep going on forever... So may you rest in the greatest depths of peace, joy, and pleasure... I also have one more thing to say... That is..." Jiyu looked up, as what seemed like silence reigning over the world appeared, then seconds later disapeared and Jiyu spoke as he looked up into the sky, "I love you too, Yami..."
