I'm so sorry for the lack of updates recently! I got pretty bad writer's block and I started focusing on my other book "Cullen" (its like a more toxic version of this lol), I hope to go back to regular updates here!
Dis chapter kinda steamy btw
It had been two weeks since you had spoken to Draco or even seen him, really. After everything happened with his dad and the clock tower, he had pulled away from you.
You worried often about him, having frequent nightmares imagining him climbing the stairs to the clock tower over and over. You always woke up in cold sweats or crying. He was wrecking your mental state.
It seemed that he was pulling away from everyone at school really. Draco was rarely in class, and when he was, he was always the first one to leave. You needed him to come back to you. It terrified you, everything felt dark and heavy and the days passed slowly.
Thinking about him made you feel sick, you wanted to tell someone what you had seen. But, at the same time, you knew anything you said would reveal your relationship and would also likely not be received well from your classmates. Nobody needed another reason to hate him. You were certain that there was a reason behind all of this. Something had happened that day with his father's friend, something terrible. And now it was eating away at Draco, reducing him from a strong and confident wizard to a scared boy who had never been truly loved.
You loved him, though. It made you sad to think that. You had never felt this way about anyone ever before, it was a feeling that consumed your entire body and soul. It made you sad because you knew you were too scared to ever let him know it.
---
On the third week after the terrible night, Draco returned. He came to every class, even spending a bit of time in the common room. He had returned to his usual routine of teasing other classmates and laughing with his cronies.
You felt heartbroken, watching him from afar. Although he was speaking to everyone else and seemed perfectly normal, he hadn't come back to you. What were you supposed to do about it? You didn't want to risk bringing him back down, he was okay without you, and you had to learn to be okay with that.
Your mind kept wandering to memories of all of your lazy afternoons spent in his bed, your night in the library, the clock tower, the smell of his clothes, all of it. Your head was swirling with all the intricacies of him.
Suddenly, you felt a hand run across your shoulder blades. You had been sitting in an armchair in the common area, trying to get some reading done. You turned your head to see who it was and your breath caught in your throat, it was Draco.
He was looking down at you, his eyes longing, with a slight devilish smile on his lips. He looked immaculate, a few strands of platinum hair hanging in his eyes. He continued to run his fingertips along your shoulders and down your arms. Fuck, you had missed his touch. It took almost everything in you not to moan at the feeling of his strong hands on your body again.
"Draco," you said softly and his smile spread slightly wider. He rolled his eyes and laughed quietly, you felt your cheeks burning.
Your stomach was doing front flips. You had become so accustomed to his touch and the way he looked at you in the few weeks you had been together, but all of that comfort had disappeared in his absence. His touch felt brand new, it excited you.
Though his eyes had a layer of sadness in them, he seemed calm and composed. Perhaps he wasn't putting on an act anymore. The idea sent your heart fluttering, maybe Draco was back.
"Come here," he said in a soft, deep voice. You stood up and followed him back to his room, this couldn't be real. You were so excited, it was hard not to scream.
