(Anyways bbs, we have an Andrew fic! Andrew's my personal favorite comfort character. who's yours? content? it's gonna be an angst -> fluff)

Edit: seeing as I don't like how I wrote it now, I have decided to say that if you want to HC y/n as knowing Andrew from beforehand- you may. It would help make sense of more things for those of you who prefer more "canon" interpretations.

It was a very dark and rainy day at the manor, heavy water droplets stormed down. You were sitting on a bench by an open window, in one of the back hallways of the manor. No one other than the loneliest survivors and hunters roamed around here, excluding you. You were a little bit social with a few of the people here, but others just didn't sit right with you. You sighed, leaning on the windowsill, partially making sure you didn't get wet.

You were about to fall asleep when you heard footsteps approaching behind you. At first you were expecting Aesop, but your guess was just a little bit off. It was actually the solitary grave-keeper, with a pale complexion and crimson red eyes. You had taken a liking to him, as he wasn't loud and bright the way William was, or Norton tried to be, he was the exact opposite- quiet and dark. Something about him had also checked many trustworthy boxes. You thought Andrew would have tried to be around more people, since almost everyone at the manor was okay with his presence, but here he was, enshrouded in all black clothing, his shovel gripped tight in his hands.

"Hello, Andrew." You said, turning to look at him. The man jumped slightly, quite a bit of fear in his eyes.

"Can I... help you?" He said softly, putting one hand near his chest. He shifted nervously, as if he anticipated a harsh reaction. You would give no such thing.

"I was just going to ask you if you wanted to sit with me." You replied with a smile. "No one's ever back here... plus I think you could use some company."

The grave-keeper froze, blinking. He seemed to not have expected THAT answer, but he nodded without a word and sat down near you.

"There's no games going on today, right?" You asked. You weren't doing any matches today, as normally it would be a day when anyone who hadn't gone would go against the hunter who had the lowest hunting score.

"Correct." Andrew said, his ruby eyes meeting yours for a moment, before he turned quickly to look out to the rainy window. You thought you could see a blush on his face, but you didn't question it.

"Did you have any matches to complete today?"

"No... I usually complete my matches first thing in the morning."

"Why's that?" You questioned.

"I... fear the sun." Andrew said, his voice faltering. "Not to mention, I get sunburns very easily."

"Oh... that's a bit rough." You laced your hands together.

"Y/N, why aren't you with everyone else?" Andrew asked, glancing at you. His voice's volume had returned to normal.

"The main room was too chaotic for me, I needed to step away." You looked back, admiring his overall appearance. He was easily a sight for sore eyes. You realized you had zoned out staring at him, which resulted in him getting very nervous, to a point where he inched away from you. "Oh! Sorry, sorry... What about you? People seem to like you?"

"..." The man beside you paused, biting his lip. "Not everyone here likes me, Y/N." He looked down guiltily, shadows seeming to get darker across his face. "It was something I expected anyways." He sounded defeated, and especially sad.

"What happened?" You asked, getting closer to him.

"Wh- What are you doing?" He looked at you bitterly. "Why would you come close to a monster like me?"
