Inheritance - The Courting

Chapter 10

Draco POV

An owl comes flying through the window, carrying a courting letter. The last challenge was like two weeks ago. That is a long time for in between the first and the second challenge. I quickly open the letter to look at the contents.

Dear Reader,

An inconvenience has occurred, but that doesn't stop the courting from continuing. As our son is at the moment unable to do any physical event, we will play a game. We will play 20 question, and you will have to answer about yourself. Please answer the questions honestly, it won't help you in the end if you lie.

1. What is more important to you; power and wealth or love?

2. Would you want to live in another time aera? If yes, which one?

3. What are your sun, moon and rising signs?

4. If you had a song stuck in your head for 24 hours, which one would it be?

5. Which of your achievements are you most proud of?

6. What is one thing in your life right now that you hope never changes?

7. What songs do you have completely memorized? (You only have to give one to three answers, or none if you don't have any memorized)

8. What job do you think you would be absolutely terrible at?

9. What are you absolutely determined to do/achieve?

10. What skill would you like to master?

11. What is the best day on the calendar, and why?

12. What city would you most like to live in?

13. Who do you look up to the most, and why?

14. If you go/went to Hogwarts, which house are/were you in?

15. How do you relax after something stressful? 

16. What pets did you have while growing up?

17. Where would you spend all your time if you could?

18. What is one thing you really want but can't afford yet?

19. What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?

20. What do you find the most irritating thing a person can do?

I immediately notice the sneaky challenge in this letter. Not only will you be out if you try to lie, but if you don't check up on Hadrian, you are also out. Because apparently you don't care about his health enough. 

I immediately grab my quil to answer the questions and send the letter back to the Riddle manor.

Hadrian POV

The darkness finally goes away when I open my eyes. My eyes are met with the worried eyes of my parents, looking down on me. I'm in my own bed I notice, not in the land with the big mansion anymore. 

"How are you feeling?" my father asks. "Like someone ran me over with a bus, and then decided to go back and run me over again." I answer truthfully. I do feel like shit at the moment. "What happened?" I ask my parents. "Well, you came into your first heat, but something was wrong. You still had some hidden blocks and spells on you. So the goblins removed them. You have been sleeping for three days straight." my dad says. 

"My first heat? More blocks? Three days?" I mumble to myself "Wait a moment, three days straight?!" I ask. "And the courting?". "That went on with a 20 question game." my father answers. "So don't worry, you just rest.". "But..." I try, but it's no use. "No buts, young man, we almost lost you again, so now you need to rest and give your body the time to recover.

And that's what I do, a whole boring week long....
