Hadrian POV

There are so many people here. The whole ballroom is packed with people in dresses, suits and other kinds of fancy clothing. It's making me kind of anxious to see that there are so many people here, all for me. What if I mess up?

My father seems to sense my discomfort and gives me a reassuring smile. "Everything will be fine, Had, I'm right beside you.". My father has just welcomed everyone and the first dance will start soon.

Just as I think that the music starts. My eyes widen a little in panic and my father grabs my hand and squeezes it a little. He then proceeds to lead me down the stairs to the middle of the ballroom.

People made a path so my father and me could easily get to the middle of the dance floor. We start in the begin position for the waltz and we begin. At first I'm tense because I can feel all the eyes on me, but then other people start dancing and I relax a bit.

Draco POV

Hadrian is lead to the middle of the ballroom on his father's arm. They start dancing and it just looks so elegant and natural. Like they have been doing this together ever since Hadrian was a little kid.

They are dancing the waltz, and I just stand at the edge of the dancefloor. Not really willing to dance with anyone else but Hadrian. I'm here for him, and no-one else.

To my left is a male with a red suit and striking red hair. But he doesn't seem to be a Weasley, seeing the lack of liquid doritos all over his face. He would be considered handsome, if it wasn't for the huge scar over his right eye.

He's just standing there, appearing to be looking at the same person the rest of the room had been looking at a few minutes ago. His eyes never leaving the small figure attached to his father, swerving around the ballroom gracefully.

Suddenly he adverted his eyes from Hadrian to look me straight in the eyes. He made a sign of acknowledgement at me before he made his way to a few people on the other side of the room.

Wierd dude, but he seems friendly enough. I can't help but wonder what or who he's here for though....

??? POV

Why the Malfoy heir was staring at me just seconds ago is a mystery to me. It usually means trouble, but he didn't seem upset with me or anything, just genuinely curious.

I wonder why he is here. I heard he is a dominant Veela or something from a friend of mine, but he also has a close bond with the Lord. So he could be here for either.

I can't help but wonder if he's my rival or a friend though....

Hadrian POV

When the first dance with my father is over, a lot of people try to catch my attention to get me to dance with them. I politely dance with all of them.

~Time skip to when the ball almost ends~

Almost all  of my favorite courters have danced with me. But my top two are nowhere to be seen. I think to myself: 'Where are they?'. And just as I think that, two tall males appear right in front of me. A ginger and a blonde. "Well hello, Mister Malfoy, Mister Weasley.". At that Draco seems to be surprised and he mutters: "Mister Weasley?".

Charlie looks at Draco and says: "Yes, Weasley, problems with that, because I sure do.". I laugh at that. Charlie is totally different from Ron, Ginny and their mother. He absolutely despises them, but the law won't let him change his last name, 'Pureblood' laws, made by Dumbledore himself.

"No" Draco mutters, utterly embaressed. Chralie takes the oppertunity that has created itself, while Draco is busy being embaressed. "May I take this dance, my lord?" he asks. I accept, of course, who wouldn't want to dance with an attractive man while being attracted to said man.

~Time skip to when the dance ends~

We danced for a good few minutes in comfortable silence, and I could feel the jealousy radiating off of Draco. I found it very funny seeing him get all worked up over me dancing with Charlie. So as soon as the dance ended, he came to us and asked me to dance.

"My lord, may I have this dance?". "Of course, Mister Malfoy.". Charlie handed me over to Draco and then walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

"Charlie Weasley?". "What is wrong with him?" I ask Draco. "He is a Weasley, one with the family who betrayed you.". I smile sadly at that statement, but say: "Yes, but he doesn't want to be one of them, if you didn't notice before. He also thinks that the things that his family did are wrong, but his last name doesn't define him. You shouldn't be so quick to judge, Mister Malfoy.".

Again Draco looks embaressed. His face turns a slight bit red, and it's a sight to see. The famous Draco Malfoy shows emotions, the Malfoy mask broke.

I laugh and Draco looks at me as if I have gone crazy, but in a loving way, if you know what I mean.

Draco POV

Hadrian laughs out of nowhere, and to be honest, his laugh is really pretty. He looks up at me and smiles and my world becomes just that bit brighter. And that's when I realize it. If I'm not Hadrian's mate, I'm going to be heartbroken by the end of this.

The shock must have been visible on my face, because Hadrian suddenly looks concerned and asks: "Are you okay?". I nod and look for a way out of this. That's when the song ends and the next suitor asks Hadrian to dance.

I give Hadrian to the man and make a quick bow to Hadrian himself. And then I quickly make my way out of there.

Tom POV

I see the young Malfoy heir walking away from my son as fast as he can without being inpolite. My son looks both concerned and sad at Malfoy walking away. I wonder why he had to leave so quickly.
