Braden pulls into the school yard in the first available parking spot. It is a small school so parking spots are all close to the school. All of our cars are child locked for Caspian's safety, so Ambrose opens my door as he gets out and we all grab our bags from the trunk. We do not start school tell 9:30am and we end school at 2:30pm because werewolves learn all our future skills from our parents. Most of the time the young wolf takes over their parents' role in the pack when they retire unless the wolf shows other important skills at a young age.

Our pack believes in equality among the different ranks. Which means if you are an Omega you can still have a job in the pack. Werewolves are born with their rank and it usually comes from your bloodline, but Omegas are a little different. They usually have a defect that makes them weaker than other werewolves. Omegas are harder to rank until they are older for that reason. The amazing thing is it usually tends to make some of their other qualities better. I have learned that does not happen all the time, but it has in every case I have seen.

Braden and I walk into English class after walking Ambrose to his first class. He is a year younger than us so we will not see him tell lunch but only going to school for five hours helps the day go by a lot faster. Until we get home and have chores and jobs to do.

Caspian was extremely upset when we had to leave and threw a fit. His usually first day of school attitude but he perked up fast when Linus told him he was teaching pup school today. Cassi loves his Papa, and it shows. He is always such a happy pup I wish we could figure out which pack he was from but by now it is safe to assume his parents did not survive the war. We have been in touch with several surviving packs that are holding on the same way we are and none of them are related or even know who Cassi is.

Mrs. Maggie comes in and starts her lecture about what we are going to do for this semester. Boring beginning of the year stuff. Two hours later we are sitting outside soaking up the sun and snacking on a bag of Doritos we stole from home for lunch.

"I think Linus isn't very happy about something that went on during his meeting last night." I mention while trying to find the chip that fell into my lap.

"Yeah, I heard dad and mom talking about someone buying that house on the edge of the forest." Braden replies feeding Ambrose as the couple lazes against a tree.

"Man, I don't want to be responsible for humans. Why can't they just stay in the city?" I grumble to myself.

"What if they are wolves looking for a place and pack to call home?" Ambrose questions making both me and Braden chuckle.

"Dad would have known by now if they were wolves and planning to join the pack Hun." Braden answers as the bell rings and we get up to go to our last few classes.

The car makes a clicking sound before the engine turns off again making Braden growl and curse human inventions. Ambrose puts his arms around Braden almost purring to calm his angry mate down. "Dad said to just walk back home. He'll get the car towed to the house and have the mechanics check it out."

We take our bags out of the trunk and head home cutting through the forest we spent our childhood playing in. We do not actually live far from where we go to school. The pack house sits in the middle of the town not far from the business district because most of the pack members go there at least once a day for certain things. All of our meetings are held at the pack house as well and pack members need to be able to get there in minimal time.

"Mrs. Maggie's ass grew over the summer." I tease Ambrose knowing he has always had a thing for the young teacher. My comment makes him blush and Braden laugh and then whimper after Ambrose smacks his arm rather hard if the red mark on Braden's arm says anything.
