(NOTE: THIS SCENE DID NOT HAPPEN LIKE THIS LIKE AT ALL, IT WAS DRAMATICALLY EDITED BC I USED IT FOR AN ELA ASSIGNMENT BUT I WANTED TO POST IT HERE BC WHY NOT)
Connor walked into the bar, keeping his head down and his tail in his pants. The village of Rose was not kind to dragon hybrids, as he had learned the hard way, and he was unsure whether or not this small tavern was dangerous. He took a seat on one of the wooden stools and waited to be served. A wolf-resembling man approached him, wearing a blue hoodie and wiping down tables.
"Welcome to the Ice Wolf Tavern, can I get you a drink?" The bartender chirped. Connor kept his head down, and tried to stop his tail from quivering nervously.
"Just a glass of whiskey." he murmured.
"ID?"
Connor slid his wallet over and shifted uncomfortably. He needed to hurry before it got dark, he needed to find a place to sleep, and was still unsure if this peculiar place was dragon-friendly. I guess it was at least dog friendly, taking note of the bartender. He looked around him. Seemed normal, but then again if he had learned anything from his past experiences, looks could be misleading. He jumped as something began moving a few stools away from him. He had somehow not noticed the young boy laying across the stools, bruised and tattered.
"Is he okay?" he asked the bartender, mildly concerned.
"Oh, yeah, he's just sleeping. Don't worry about it." he shrugged and slid a glass of whiskey to Connor.
"Hm" Connor murmured, taking a sip. From the side of the room, a figure stepped out and stood by the doorframe. Connor turned his head to look and almost spit out his drink. It was a full hybrid dragon, purple with spikes down its spine. He looked at the bartender, ready to jump in to defend a brother if anything went down. But the bartender just waved at the man-sized dragon, smiling.
"Good evening Tyler, how'd you sleep?" he asked. Tyler yawned widely, revealing sharp and yellow teeth.
"I slept pretty well, how's Princess?"
Connor took a swig of his whiskey, but said nothing.
"Timothy's sleeping on the bar stools, he's recovering pretty well, I gave him the potion Honey gave him and it seems to be working."
Honey? Potion?? What was this place?
"Sweet, and who's the tree?" Tyler snickered as he looked Connor up and down.
"He walked in a while ago, haven't had the pleasure of being given a name yet though." The bartender grinned. Connor's tail waved around, threatening to explode out of his pants. He nodded at Tyler and waved shyly.
"Connor, Connor Astral-Farwoods."
"Cool, i'm Tyler, that's Ein, and that over there is Princess, er, Timothy. Welcome to the tavern brother." He said, shooting finger guns at Connor. He chewed the inside of his cheek. Well, guess his tail was no longer a secret. He slowly freed it from the restraints of his jeans and shook Tyler's hands, a smile of his own beginning to form on his face. It felt quite nice to be welcomed somewhere for once.
"It's nice to meet you, Tyler."
"You're welcome to stay here for the night, Connor, it's getting dark and I reckon you don't wanna go to the village." Ein the bartender offered. Connor thought about it for a second and awkwardly nodded.
"Yeah, thanks." He said, finishing his whiskey. At last, a place he actually felt safe. Maybe he could make friends here and maybe even make some money working in the bar. Woah, calm down Connor, don't think too much about it just yet. Still, he kept those ideas in the back of his head, as he continued to talk with the wolf-man and dragon, and later on, Timothy, who as it turns out, was also a dragon hybrid. Little did Connor know that this was the start of something big, something legendary.(lol no ❤)
