Feeling a slight chill come over you, you tugged the blanket up over your shoulders and went to roll into Jessi's warm embrace. But your eyes slowly fluttered open upon feeling only cold sheets in her place.

You sat up and the blanket fell from your shoulders. You shivered at the cold, wanting nothing more than to be in the comfort of your girlfriend's arms. But you couldn't find her. You patted across the bed and as the seconds continued to tick by and you only felt the sheets against your fingertips, the more awake you became.

But soon enough, as your finger inched closer to the edge of the bed, you soon felt her warm skin against the tips of your fingers. She must've let you go and rolled over to her side of the bed in her sleep.

Comforted by the fact that she was still there, you breathed out a sigh of relief. But it was short-lived. Because soon, you found yourself shivering again, and as much as you didn't want to wake her, you knew you wouldn't be able to get back to sleep without her arms around you.

You let your hand fall against her back. You slowly trailed your fingers up to her shoulders where you brushed them along her skin. But she only stirred at your touch, only lifting her cheek from her pillow and moving her head so it rested upon another part of it.

"Jessi?" You spoke softly as you shook her shoulder. "Jessi, please wake up."

She lifted her head once more but craned her neck this time to look back at you. "What? Y/n?"

"Yeah," you mumbled back, voice soft and a little sad. You suddenly felt guilty for waking her. She was obviously exhausted.

"What is it?"

"I'm sorry to wake you. I'm just cold."

"Did I steal your blanket again?" She wondered, making you chuckle softly.

"No. I woke up and you weren't holding onto me anymore."

She slowly sat up and looked around the dark room. Feeling the sheets under her fingers, she quickly realized that she was back on her side of the bed instead of the middle where you both lay each night and hold onto each other for security and warmth.

"Oh, baby, I'm sorry." She mumbled tiredly. "Lay back down."

You fell onto your side once more and felt her arms wrap around you. Her chest to your back, you placed your head back on her shoulder and breathed out a contented sigh. She tangled her legs with yours. She was warm and holding onto you so securely instantly helped you to warm back up.

She reached for the blanket and tucked it over you both, but made sure you had most of it. She kissed your neck a few times, only to lay a few soft and innocent kisses to your skin.

"Warmer?"

"Much." You replied, eyes fluttering closed. "Sorry for waking you. I know you've been working hard and you're tired."

"Don't worry about it." She mumbled. "You're warm now, that's what matters most. Now try to get back to sleep. I love you lots and I promise that I won't let go of you anymore tonight."

A small smile tugged at your lips. You nodded slowly, feeling her lips brush against your cheek lovingly as she whispered a soft 'goodnight' in your ear. Her arms were wrapped around you securely, ensuring that they wouldn't slip away.

Feeling warm and cozy once more, you tiredly mumbled, "goodnight, my love," before falling back asleep.
