The Next Day...

I've been up since three this monring.

I had a nightmare and I'm home alone right now. I still can't drive so I couldn't go anywhere.

Today Leah told me to chill and stay home so she didn't come get me today.

I tried calling Kd, but I think he' sleeping.

He'll usually call back when I call, but he didn't.

I've been cuddling with bear and just staring at the wall. Seems like this bear is the only comfort I have right now.

This was my first time having a nightmare since a child. It wws about that night, but it felt worse.

My phone rung making me jump up.

I slid myself up and grabbed it off the nightstand.

" Hello? " I answered.

" You want chicken nuggets or a chicken sandwich from Chic-fil-A? " Kd asked me.

" Doesn't matter. You're coming over? "

" No I'm asking what do you want ta' eat fa' fun. " He said sarcastically making me laugh.

" Okay. "

" You ight? "

" We can talk once you get here. "

" Bet. When I see youuu." He sung to me.

" Alright." I laughed, hanging up the phone.

Twenty minutes later...

" I mean if it make you feel betta' that nigga dead. " Kd said lowly making me choke on my sandwich.

" H-how would you know? " I asked clearing my throat.

I drunk some of my lemonade and kept attention on him.

" You really thought we were just gonna' let some nigga do you some like that and it be ight? " He asked me like I was dumb.

" Betta' yet, you think that we was just gon' let a snake continue ta' be around? "

" Well no, but y'all ain't have to kill anyone. I'm sorry it had to com- "

" Girl shut up. " Kd cut me off.

" Even if we didn't know you they was gon' find a way ta' get at us. Just know you good as long as you got us. " He assured me.

" What did I do to deserve y'all? " I laughed taking another bite of my sandwich.

It always dawned on me that they were into gang activities before.
