"YUI-CHAN!" I yell as I stand on the roof of the building, I watch the only light in my world, my only friend, standing on the edge of the building we met. The high school where we grew together, where we had our first fights, our first crushes, our first failures, our first accomplishments.
"I can't keep doing this, Iseul-chan," She says as she turns her head to face me, "I want to go somewhere better,"
"Yui! That shit you read online isn't real, just please come back here!" I yell desperately as I my tears start to down pour, I grit my teeth.
"Have you ever wanted to leave this place?" Huh? I look away from the lake and turn my head to Yui who sits beside me on the grass.
"Of course, I'm going to get a degree and get out of this shit town," I say back, she doesn't seem phased.
"No, I mean, this world,"
"huh?"
"I want to," she says as she continues gazing at the lake, I chuckle.
"Don't we all,"
"I learnt about shifting online, it seems really cool, I really want to try,"
"That makes no sense, you mean daydreaming?"
"No, you wouldn't get it,"
"Explain it to me, I'm the top student! I can get anything!"
"Exactly, people like you wouldn't get it, the desire to escape with no return, to trade those you love for a better life, wondering if you even love them or anything..."
"Yui-chan..."

She smirks.
"I dont care, anywhere is better than this shithole," She says calmly, her eyes look to meet mine and she gives a soft smile. That smile. It's been decided.
"Yui! No!" I yell as I begin running full speed towards her. All my life, I've always been a bystander, I've always been too late, not this time.
"I want to see the sky," I watch as she opens her arms wide and falls back, almost as if inviting me in. Without thinking I leap off the ledge, right into her arms.
Her eyes stay focused on the sky while mine stay on her face, her smile, the look of ease, of rest. For a moment I feel as if we're flying but reality comes back and I hold on tightly and close my eyes as we fall rapidly, what did I just do?

"The report has just came in that two students from a prestige college in Tokyo have been found dead on campus, the police are investigating if it was an accidental or intentional suicide and have ruled out other possibilities"
Is this a dream? I stand alone in what appears to be my living room, I watch from afar as the TV shows a reporting, isn't that my school?
"The students were found in one anothers arms, a tragic death of the number one academically ranked student Iseul and the young Yui,"
huh but I'm right here?
I walk closer towards the screen as I see my bloody body laying on Yui's, she looks so dismantled... she must have soften my fall. I walk even closer to the screen and stare at our young bodies in one anothers arms, the blood seeps through our uniforms and the splatter marks the ending of our futures.
I need to tell someone I'm alive.
I run through the living room towards the front door, I use all my energy to pull the usually heavy door open but when I do I'm met with unfamiliarity.
"Nani..." where am I?
