Her heart pattered, she couldn't sleep. Especially not with his body draped across hers. Her body felt warm and safe, but at the same time, scared and in a state of melancholy.

They had always been there for each other, Enola was trying to think, why did she feel like this?

Why did her heart race when his bare skin was touching hers? Why did her stomach fill with butterflies as his arm subconsciously draped across her waist. Why did her heart stop and her spine get chills when he tucked his head in the crook in her neck.

His soft breathing against her as she fell into a fluttered and scared feeling.

Tewksbury and her had become close when they were kids. When Enolas father died, that was the first time they truly bonded and were there for each other.

~~

Tewksbury was wondering where Enola was, the clock in class ticked in his 5th grade classroom as he tapped his foot watching the clock.

Only a minute until we can leave.

Enola was not the type to miss school, they had been friends since they had met. Everyone knew they were best friends, they were that duo everyone knew even though they weren't popular. They were always together and it was only them.

The bell ringed, the sound echoing through the room as the sound of children shuffling and giggling filled the room. Kids brushed pass him as he packed up his bag. Getting ready for the weekend.

Enola and Tewksbury had been good friends and it was normal for them to just show up at each other's houses unannounced. Which was nice at times.

With that rule in place, Tewksbury decided to make the walk from school to Enolas home.

"Perhaps she's sick.." He thought to himself.

After a short walk from the school to Enolas house, he knocked on the wooden door.

The door flung open to find a red faced enola, the rings of her eyes red and her nose a deep pink, dried up tears stained her face as her lip trembled.

His eyes widened as he took a look at her.

"Eno-" He started, but she cut him off by jumping into his arms, wrapping her arms tightly around him. She sobbed into his shirt, as he hugged her back.

Her tears were hot and he could feel her trembling as she held onto him for dear life.

He was scared, nervous and wanted to help her, he had never seen her like this.  Sure he'd seen her cry but this was different, a different kind of pain.

She muffled out a "I'm sorry.." She said as she was till holding to him, her tears staining his deep red colored shirt.
