Moving On Part 7

Chapter 7

I lay awake in bed feeling sick to the stomach, ‘ first day, what will they think of me, omg im gonna be a loner….’ All these thoughts invaded my mind. I mean of course I didn’t want to be completely invisible , I just wanted to be myself and enjoy school unlike back in Leeds. It was 6 30 , school started at 8 . Half an hour earlier than in England , if I wasn’t so nervous and awake I would probably be dead (hypothetically) right now.

I got my self up and had a shower, after drying and scrunching my hair I left it in its natural blonde wavy curls down my back. Thanks Mum for giving me such easy hair. After applying some mascara and eyeliner lightly I changed into my Rolling Stones tshirt and denim shorts with my precious grey converse. Back home I could never wear my shorts due to the terrible all year weather but here it was HOT . Perfect, like an all time holiday. I smiled at my reflection , I guess I looked okay for the first day . I ran downstairs, 7:00 and Adam still wasn’t awake. Mum and John were at the table eating breakfast chatting , I give them a quick hello and ran to the kitchen to find a moody looking Josh sat playing with his very soggy cornflakes. Yuk.

“ What eating at your head eh?” I joked as I got myself some coco pops. How I loved them. I couldn’t help but notice how tired he looked.

“Just leave me alone Kaitlin,” He muttered .

“Okay, I was just asking, is it Amber by any chance? I mean your  17 now, one year here and then you can move back home,” I said comforting him. As annoying as he was , he was my brother and I hated seeing him so upset.  He looked up and give me a small smile.

“Thanks Kait, I’m obviously moving back but Amber cheated on me, Jay rang me yesterday and she’s not denying it at all .” He really loved that slut, the way she put on the whole heartbroken act with him , I always knew she was dodgy.

“ That stupid daft slag, you know what Josh, she was too fake anyways , I mean we came here for a new start didn’t we, so come on and don’t turn all emo on me or I might just have to disown you.” I joked giving him a light punch in the arm.

“Shut up kid, and thanks Kaitlin , to be honest your right she was a fake bitch,” He laughed slightly .and give me a tight hug . Things were getting back to normal with him. My work here was done . : )

7:45  and Adam came running down the stairs looked half dead and half undressed . His blonde hair was all over the place and his school bag dragging behind him. He was going to make me late on my first day , I knew it .I should have left with Josh but NO, I decided to be nice and wait for my dear reliable step brother Adam.  And I was nervous enough already.

“Adam , come on! Im not being late on my  -,” before I knew it I was dragged out the house and practically thrown into his car before speeding off. Minutes later , after a very crazy ride we were infront of our school. Adam, now looking slightly better than earlier smirked and said, “ you were saying..?” I punched him lightly in the arm and got out the car.

It was just like the day I came last year. The huge school was surrounded by hundreds of students in different groups .  Some girls squealing and hugging , after not seeing each other all holiday. Boys doing that ridiculous slap back hug thing they did . I looked around nervously at the different groups , the squealy pretty girls, the built jocks , and so on. Wow , I guess no matter where you go there are always going to be groups . Now finding the right one for me , that would be hard. I gulped and carried on looking until I hand patted my shoulder. I looked up to see Adam and my brother Josh smiling at me. “ It’ll be fine , and anyways you’ve always got me if you end up being a loner,” Adam said , its like he just read my mind.

Josh left to find his own way to the office , he said he didn’t want to be seen as with “kids” on his first day. We were only like 2 years younger. Adam lead me to the office , which was a treck away, and I thought Riverton was big.
