~ Flashback~
"Four Weeks Ago"... Kate Argent's POV... I awoken in the back seat of my car, I noticed that there was static playing from the radio, I pushed the knob. A cassette tape ejected from the Kenwood deck. The words, "PLAY ME," were hand-written in ink on the label. I placed the tape back in the deck and a cultured radio-announcer voice said the following:
"...eventually settling in a small town in Northern California, this family used their wealth to rebuild the community around them while remaining isolated from it. This was sometimes more a choice than a necessity as not all of their children would become werewolves. The ones that did, these born wolves, had to be trained. They needed to learn control. They had a practice for the training of betas, a tradition passed down through generations, it involved the use of a sacred object called 'a triskelion'. Without control, violence – extreme violence, is inevitable."
~End of Flashback~
Weeks later... I had Christine unconscious and back at the La iglesia, she was an incubator for this whole new creation, a hybrid Banshee/ WereJaguar. But, right now, I was covered in blood amid wrecked motorcycles, burning cars, and torn bodies. One of the Beserkers held a bleeding man aloft while I questioned him about, "who pays the bills," and the, "mixtape," she received. Because, while no one seems to know who is pulling the strings, I believed the assassins each got a tape too. The man said, " He did not, but says a couple who look like, "teenagers," got one. He said, " They're called "the orphans." One of the not-so-dead bodies fires a gun into my back, I walked over with shotgun drawn to shoot the man, but I lost control, transformed and clawed him to death. I then turned on the man being held by the Berserker. He begs for his life, but I ripped him up too. At the School... Coach tells members of the lacrosse team they cannot enter the locker room after the scrimmage game, due to the crime scene inside. He also told us, " That they should call the police if they see Garrett and then tell him that he's off the team." Liam's POV... I came around the corner and see Scott McCall talking to his father. His Father is in the FBI, Agent McCall apologized for not being at the game. He told Scott, " He promised that he would be around so she could take some extra shifts at the hospital." Scott told him, " It's okay because he's "here now." " I know, you miss Christine and the Baby." He said to him. At the Sheriff's Office... Deputy Parrish's POV... I walked in with a handcuffed Violet from the scene. She noticed my name and called him, "Jordan Parrish," connecting my last name to one of the targets on list. I corrected her with an emphasis on my title, "Deputy Parrish." Scott's POV... Violet eyed me on her way past me, the Sheriff stopped and showed my dad the thermal-cut wire Violet used on her victims. The FBI agent seemed to recognize it, Liam told me, " That Kira took off after learning about the second half of the Dead Pool." I understood this is because her mother is on the list. Liam worried that he might be on the, as yet, unknown third part of the list. Agent McCall's POV... I confronted Violet said, " They've got a file of more than a dozen murders in which the weapon was a thermal-cut wire." She claimed, " That she doesn't know anything about it, claiming she just goes to school here. I told her, " Maybe, they should call her parents," but then admitted he knows she doesn't have parents, "That's why they call you 'the orphans'." I told the Sheriff, " That they need to find her boyfriend." Sheriff Stilinski asked Coach, " For their lockers," and said, " He'll need bolt cutters." At Beacon Hills Animal Clinic... On the Exam Room Table... Dr. Deaton's POV... The Devenford Prep lacrosse player, Brett Talbot is convulsing and spewing yellow foam from his mouth. I explained about the Wolfsbane, poisoning and Stiles said, " That Derek must hold him very still." I needed to make an incision in his chest and if they don't hold him still he could die. Stiles cracked that Derek used some, "werewolf strength," to help hold him down. Derek, who appeared to be struggling with the boy, Derek told Stiles, " He's not the only one in the room with werewolf strength," pointing out that Brett is a werewolf as well. Just as I began to cut, Brett broke free and rushed towards the exit. He is punched into unconsciousness by Peter Hale who cracks that, "I guess I still have a little werewolf strength myself." Derek's POV... I thought, " I have more than a little." I noticed that his arm, where Brett scratched him during the struggle, is not healing. Stiles told us, " Brett stopped breathing." Deaton pushes the scalpel deep into Brett's breast bone and slices down. The boy gasps and a thick yellow smoke flows up from the open wound and dissipated. The scratch marks on my arm healed. Brett's POV... I was unconscious, but begins whispering, "the sun, the moon, the truth." Derek's POV... Dr. Deaton explained that it is a Buddhist saying, "Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth." Peter realized Brett is connected to a werewolf named Satomi. Scott's POV... I broke into Garrett's locker, while Liam stands look out. I recovered a bag full of money, but I told Liam, " I found nothing." Melissa McCall's POV... The power at the McCall home has been shut off. I was on the phone with the electric company attempting to get them to turn it back on, I was apparently 3 months late in paying my bill. Usually, Christine would be here to help me out, but she is not here. Upstairs... Scott's POV... I was listening to my mother beg on the phone, while a bag with thousands of dollars sits under my bed. Out in the Beacon Hills National Forest... Liam's POV... Mason and I was out for a run, Mason was amazed that two assassins used them, pretended to be their friends. He was also amazed that I wasn't freaking out. I told Mason, " I got plenty to freak out about," and then I took off running at, "werewolf speed," leaving Mason far behind. Once I realized that, I left behind my friend, I stopped and turned. Garrett rammed into me from behind with his truck. With his dagger in hand, he apologizes for missing, "movie night," but Garrett told me, " He has something else planned." Mason's POV... I arrived along the road where I last saw Liam, I didn't notice the spots of blood on the pavement at my feet. In math class... Malia's POV... Stiles, Kira and Lydia are absent, the teacher asked me about them. She offers to, "try catching their scent." Then I heard someone whispering my name, I gathered my book bag and left class. Derek's POV... I was waiting for her in the hallway. He told her, " Brett is still out of it, but he needs help finding Brett's pack." I told her, " They have a secret meeting place in the woods," and since Malia has spent more time in the woods than anyone. I was hoping she can help. I brought Brett's jersey for Malia to catch a scent, She told me, " She's not good at that yet." I explained that some scents are tied to emotion, others to identity. Malia sniffed and understanding seems to dawn in her eyes. Lydia's POV... Stiles and I took the second part of the Dead Pool list to Deputy Parrish. He told us, " He ran a bunch of the names through, "the system," but couldn't find anything on any of them." We turned the page over and show him the name, "Jordan Parrish." He was shocked to learned that he's only worth $5 dollars. He was even more shocked, after Stiles explained the number stands for $5,000,000. Parrish told us, " He only makes $40,000 a year and then suggests, " That maybe I should kill myself." Stiles and I don't explain that the list is of supernatural creatures, they've come to Parrish to get him to help them get in to see Meredith. He was reluctant because, the last time they were with Meredith, she almost had a nervous breakdown. At the High School... Coach's POV... I guzzled cold medicine from a bottle. I told them, " Scott and Mason that Liam skipped his class," Coach said, " Maybe Liam is, "sick like me." The Bell Rings... Mason's POV... I was reluctant to go to class, but Scott told me, " Not to worry that he'll find Liam." He told me, " I should text him if he see Liam." Scott's POV... My phone buzzed, the caller ID said, " That it's Liam, but Scott knows it's not him." It's Garrett. Scott offered to give Garrett the money in exchange for Liam, but Garrett wanted the cash and Violet. In the Middle of the Woods... In a Well... Liam's POV... I was down a deep well in the middle of the woods. Back at the School... In the Bus Parking Area... Scott's POV... I met Garrett in the bus parking area. His plan is to break Violet out, while the police are transferring her by car to a federal facility. Garrett told me, " That he had stabbed Liam with the wolfsbane poisoned blade and once it gets to the heart "bad things happen." In the Well... Liam's POV... I have a stab wound in my chest. It oozes yellow pus, as I screamed for help in the bottom of the well. I was too far into the woods for anyone to hear. At the Entrance to the National Forest... Derek's POV... I explained to Malia that Satomi is an Alpha and one of the oldest werewolves alive. I told her, " She is a bitten werewolf and learned a lot about control after an incident, "a long time ago." I said to her, " The mantra is to help train her betas to control their shift." Malia smelled gunpowder. I found a shell and said, " He doesn't think Satomi's pack is meeting, he says they're hiding." At the Sheriff's Office... Scott's POV... I tried to talk to my father out of transporting Violet saying, " It's dangerous because Garrett is still out there." I urged my father to let someone else do it. My Dad told me, " No, he lost evidence once from an armored car and doesn't want to take any chances this time. Sheriff Stilinski is accompanying him. Then for once I actually thought about Christine and, " How she would ask me to follow them, either way." Violet smiled at me, as she was led out of the Sheriff's station. Which made me more worried about everything. I opened a case and finds, what looks to be, a tranquilizer gun inside. I told Garrett, " That the plan won't work." Garrett told me, " All I have to do is stop the car and Garrett will "take care of the rest." At Eichen House... Orderly Brunski's POV... As one of the orderlies is trying to open room at for Parrish, Lydia, and Stiles, the chief orderly, Brunski , stopped him. I chastised the orderly not to open a door for just anyone with a badge. Parrish told me, " He had to talk to Meredith about an ongoing murder investigation." I told Parrish, " He can go in, but Stiles and Lydia can't." Parrish told the me, " They are crucial witnesses." I demanded that he returned with a court order. Then I turned to Stiles and said, " That his father needs to pay his bill since it is overdue." He cracked wise about public jobs not being as reliable as they once were. Parrish pointed out public jobs are useful when you need a favor, "like last month when Canaan PD helped you get home after blowing a 0.1 on a Breathalyzer." I relented and they entered Meredith's room. In the Car with Garrett... Scott's POV... Garrett and I see the Sheriff's vehicle ahead, it has rolled onto its side and two figures are lying in the roadway. Garrett stopped the truck and I rusheed to Stilinski. Agent McCall was unconscious and the sheriff is trying to pull him along the ground to the side of the road. Garrett got his double bladed stick from the back seat and begins advancing down the road toward the wreck. Sheriff Stilinski reaches for me and gasped, "they're still here." A berserker rose from the shadows, Garrett is impressive, swinging his stick and taunting the Berserker. He shouted, " You're not so big!" He is not prepared as another berserker steps into the road and skewers him through the chest with a sharp bone and lifted him off the ground. Garrett dropped his bladed stick and apparently dies. I ran to help, but I was hit from the behind. Back at Eichen House... Stiles's POV... Meredith told us, " She can't tell Lydia and I, the third cypher key because, "things have changed." She said, " That the Benefactor doesn't want her to tell them." At the Beacon Hills Animal Clinic... Scott's POV... I woke up on the exam table at the vet clinic. There is a large sharpened bone sticking from my side. Chris Argent pulled it out. Deaton explained, " That my Dad and the sheriff are at the hospital." Argent said, " The berserkers moved fast and didn't leave much of a trail to track." Deaton suggested, " They use the bone knife to catch a scent." But, it also made me think about Christine and the Baby, and how I needed to stand up and start getting them back. Still out Finding Satomi's Pack... Derek's POV... Malia and I have had no luck finding Satomi's pack. I explained, " That some werewolves have an ability, a kind of mastery over their body that they can inhibit their scent. Malia suggested, " That this ability to hide from other werewolves is why no one knew about Demarco or Brett." Malia suggested, " They try to think like Stiles, like a detective." She told me, " Instead of asking where werewolves hide they should ask where Buddhists would hide." I told her, " When he looked to the east for enlightenment." They decide to look at the easternmost point of the woods, Lookout Point. Back at the Well... Liam's POV... I tried to climb up the sides of the well, the rocks were slippery, but I managed to get about halfway up before falling back into the water. I remembered talking to Scott after the events at Lydia's lake house, Scott explained, " How he broke through the window during his escape." He told me, " The cuts from the glass healed while I was "changed." I told him, " That's one good thing about being a werewolf, but Scott countered that it could also be really bad for other people." He told me, " I needed to, "get a grip on this." I told him, " He's been trying for years to get his anger under control. Scott asked me, " What advice Liam's dad has on the subject. I said to Scott, " When kids get angry, they deal with it in one of two ways. They either hurt themselves or they hurt someone else." I started back up the slippery rocks toward escape. Back at Eichen House... Lydia's POV... I demanded, " That Meredith tell me the name of the Benefactor." Meredith told us, " She cannot help "anymore." Stiles's POV... She becomes more and more agitated, until she screams so loud that Lydia's ears begin bleeding. At a Random Warehouse... Scott's POV... Chris Argent and I followed the berserker scent to a warehouse. The faded sign reads, "Argent Arms International." Chris explained, " That he worked here when his family owned the building." I warned him that the creatures are, "really strong." Chris retrieved a machine gun from the back seat of his SUV. We were going to try to get Christine back. At the Lookout Point... Malia's POV... I caught a foul scent, there are a dozen dead bodies lying nearby. Back at the Warehouse... Scott's POV... Chris Argent and I, just entered the warehouse when we heard Kate. She told us, " She was hoping to wait for this reunion, once she had more time to learn control." She offered them the chance to walk away without getting hurt. She asked Chris, " To put the gun down." The berserkers attack and Chris began firing at them. I told him, " To stop." Kate reached Chris and punched him. I managed to dodge the berserkers, while Chris gets thrown through a table. In the Woods... Derek's POV... I told Malia, " It looks like the dead people were poisoned." Malia told me, " Maybe they should all be running from Beacon Hills. As I turned to go, I heard someone move, I rushed back and finds Breadon wounded and gasping. At the Warehouse... Scott's POV... I got knocked through a wall. Then I was picked up by a Berserker and rammed through several walls. Then I was picked up again, and thrown through another wall into a room where I find Violet. She's dead, then that made me think about Christine. Chris is severely beaten by the berserker, but before it can deliver the killing blow, Kate calls it off. I picked him up, he was distraught saying, " He won't find Liam now." Chris told me, " There is still time." In the Well... Liam's POV... I was still climbing, I began to cough and my hands slip a bit. I looked up and seen the waning moon shining down on me from the mouth of the well. I shouted in frustration, the cry became a growl. At the Former Argent Arms International Warehouse... Scott's POV... I turned as if I heard something. At Stiles's House... Lydia's POV... Stiles and I is in his bedroom trying to figure out the remaining cypher key. We thought maybe it would be another dead person's name, but they've tried all the dead, they could think of (a lot) and nothing worked. I missed my Banshee friend, I missed having Christine to talk to about this stuff. I was also worried that I've driven, "the another I've met," over the edge. Stiles told me, " It's not her fault, that he was there too." This exchange gets him thinking about banshees, and how they know when someone is going to die. He suggested, " That the third cypher key may be the name of someone who's not dead yet, but will be." I concentrated and began typing. When I was done, the name on the screen is CHRISTINE. The code begins to unravel and another list of names appears. Then Stiles started to freak out, his younger sister's name unlocked the last part of the list.
