Aletta began the walk up the trails on Mt. Fuji when she ran into the old Shinto priest. She had found out his name was Haru and he was approaching a hundred years old, according to him. The young dragon suspected he wasn't quite truthful about his age but it was his secret to keep. Haru had been well, yet after the Nexus point opened, his health was deteriorating now and quickly. That's when the priest had asked a favor from the young forest runner. He wanted to be taken to the old pagoda stone shrine and allowed to die there. Even perhaps some assistance to send him on to his next journey..
At first the young dragon refused as she had not ever had someone she cared for, going to die from old age. She kept de-attaching to most. That was why it was so unusual about her desire to be with Aizawa.
Maybe it was just being tired of being alone. Finally this day, a quieter Sunday, she chose to make his last wish be fulfilled. It had been many, many years since he was able to visit the shrine so Aletta promised to carry him there, on her back.
He wanted to ride on a dragon.
No, he desired it like nothing ever before.
“Morning Priest Haru,” she bowed her head as her left hand fingers stroked the bunny with blue eyes. “Are you ready for your last journey on this sacred land to the next plane of existence?”
Haru laughed, “Dragoness you have lived too long with us, short lived beings. You have a seriousness most dragons would never know about. Death of another, I should imagine, is not of importance to a being that can live a thousand years and cast magic…to such a powerful being."
“Haru, I am not a typical dragon. I am not big and strong built. I am not a fast flyer but can cover the ground with speed. I am not equipped with a powerful, long range breath weapon,” Aletta paused. “I could never take another dragon, toe to toe and succeed. I am safest among humans, trying to fit in with Shouta’s help and not to be discovered.”
“Oh no child,” he smiled. “You are the most dangerous of all dragons. You know magic. Magic runs through your flesh and blood, your voice is magical when you speak your language.”
“I guess so...shall we start?” she asked.
Haru nodded his head and they both stepped off the main trail. When they reached thick forest cover, she gave the spirit bunny to Haru so she could shift. Aletta now changed to her true form. She looked at the priest then got a surprised look. “What’s wrong Priest Haru? Did I scare you with my true form?”
Tears rimmed his old eyes, “ No Dragoness. You are the most beautiful being I have seen in my long years. I prayed almost everyday to see a dragon come to this world and visit Mt. Fuji. Then my prayers were answered by a beautiful green dragon with a hammer that communicates. I wish to talk with Nazlan once more…”
The young dragon had made it a priority to visit Mt. Fuji and the old priest called Haru. She would often just sit somewhere with her bunny with blue eyes, Haru and with Nazlan between them. She didn't even know all of their conversations as they used telepathy.
Alette hummed softly, in Dragonese, as she walked gracefully through the forest. She hardly disturbed the land and was silent for her size. Haru knew she was a very special dragon, that chose to stay in his world and not return to another world, that might be a better fit for a dragon such as herself.
As the Shinto priest and the dragoness neared the old stone shrine, animals began to move out of the thick brush and limbed trees. They were not just animals but spirits found on Mt. Fuji.
The forest runner turned the corner on the trail to see a gorgeous Japanese woman in traditional kimono dress. Aletta flashed her fangs at the woman and she nodded her head, to Aletta as nine tails spiraled into view. A small set of fox ears also appeared on top of her head of rich black hair.
