This is how I became Death's secretary. Basically, my job is to evaluate peoples lifetime once they die, and decide whether they go to Heaven or Hell. So everyone has their own personal file with details about what happened in their life. Most of the souls ask a million questions about what happened to them and whatnot. Now let me tell you the tale of how I got hired by The Grim Reaper himself.
--------------------------------------------------------------
While browsing around for jobs, I found a secretary position. The employer was listed as The Grim Reaper. Thinking its a joke, I apply for the position not realizing what I've got myself into. I get a quick response from 'The Grim Reaper'.
Thank you for applying for this position!
I am looking forward to meeting you in person.
Signed, The Grim Reaper~After exchanging messages, I scheduled to meet him tomorrow at a small café he knew.
~Small Time Skip brought to you by Death's pink bunny slippers~
Walking up to the small café, I double check the directions making sure I made it to the right place. Yanking the rusted door open, A shrill bell is heard throughout the tiny shop. "Hello? Anyone home?" I call to the abandoned room standing eerily silent before me. The rusty door slams behind me with a menacing screech. A dark hooded figure is sitting in the far corner, waiting for someone. I shuffle over to the booth and sit down across from the mysterious figure. "Ah. Didn't see you there. My name is Death." The hooded figure introduced himself with a cheerful voice. A bony hand emerges out of the black cloak. I warily go to shake it, but before I had the chance, he pulled his hand back into his cloak. "Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you. At least until we arrive in my dimension." Death chuckles, snapping his skeletal fingers. A puzzled look appears on my face. The café dissolved into a foggy gray atmosphere. "There we are! Now lets properly introduce ourselves." Death holds out his hand, waiting for me to shake it. "Uhm.. Mr.Grim Reaper Death sir? Where are we?" I manage to squeak out, my eyes darting around the space. "No need for formal names! Call me Gary. And we are currently in the void! Welcome!" Gary announced, twirling in a circle enthusiastically. "So. You are now my new secretary. You evaluate peoples lifetime and decide whether they go to Heaven or Hell!" Confetti and streamers pop out of nowhere. Suddenly a desk with case files appear before us. Shuffling through the messy pile, Gary pulls one out and hands it to me. "This is a demo file. Its what you will be working with." Death explains, pointing out the main focus on the file. "The first list on this file is the good and bad things that the person did while on earth. Send them to Hell if they've done more bad deeds than good, and vice versa. You start tomorrow ok? See you tomorrow!" Gary waves goodbye and disappears into the gray fog around me. "Uhm.. How do I get out of here?" I call out to the empty void, glancing back at the messy desk before me. A note I didn't notice before catches my eye.
Also, how to get out of here is simple.
Just walk through the fog and think of where you want to go. To get back here, use the bracelet sitting on the desk. Just flip the gem so the clear side is showing.
Sincerely, Gary~Placing the note back on the desk, I find said bracelet that was mentioned. It has a thin gold band with a small flip-able obsidian gem. Slipping the bracelet around my wrist, it immediately adjusted itself to fit my wrist perfectly. Words start to form inside of the gem. "Welcome to immortality. Secretary Obsidian." My heart beat quickens, eyes growing wide at the sudden message. Flipping the obsidian gem, the rickety old café materialized around me once again. "What have I gotten myself into?" I ask the musty room, sliding in a chair behind me.
First chapter y'all! Hope ya enjoyed! Im going to include how each soul died in the next chapters. Got some ideas. Please leave requests for what kind of deaths you wanna see! Narrator Savvy out! :)
