Miracle 4

Devon’s POV

That’s weird; I thought I put my skater here. I couldn’t possibly lose it! I just bought it yesterday, it was handmade too. I let out a big sigh. Well, maybe it was meant to be, there’s no use to be here now. I’ll just buy a new one. As I turned my back against the direction of the lake, I heard something like a huge thud, probably just a bear that fell. With that huge thud, I can imagine the bear’s weight! I shrugged it off and continued my step but not long, I heard another one. Man, What a clumsy bear but then again I heard another thud.

Poor bear, I should probably help or teach him how to walk properly. Or maybe…He’s injured!

With that thought on my mind, I rushed to the sound. It was coming from the lake. I then suddenly stopped my track after seeing that the loud thud was apparently not made by a bear but instead it was a girl. It was a girl with dark brown hair with such rosy cheek, wincing in pain on the frozen lake while clutching on to her right leg. The reflection of the moonlight on the frozen lake made her look like as if she was sparkling. It was sad yet beautiful scenery.

After I got a hold of my mind, I tried to approach her but end up retreating to a nearby tree when she tries to stand up. Took a while but she succeeded in doing so with her face clearly stating that she was resisting the pain with all her might. She then started to skate which startled me and made me cowered back, hiding myself behind the tree.

Wait a minute…Is that my skate? Oh! How could she?! *sassy girl tone*

She skates and skates elegantly till I was caught up in it. I felt like I was watching at some professional competition but the image ruined when she tried to attempt to do a jump. She could have succeed if her right leg was stable.

I was worried for a second but then she stood back up flawlessly and continued to skate then attempt another jump. The same result of course. It was all over again, so many times. She tries to do a jump, she fails. Miserably.

She made another jump and another fall but this time she stayed on the ice, breathing heavily. This girl was stubborn. If you can’t do it then stop. What was she trying to accomplish? What a waste of time. In the end, all you get is disappointment. Such a dim-witted girl.

I was about to turn when the girl stood up so I stopped and watched her took a deep breath and start to skate. She jumped and made a turned in the air. I noticed she tries to land on her right leg so I run over to her but I was too late. She crumbled on the frozen lake, groaning in pain. What a stupid girl! If she knew that jump require to land on her right foot, she shouldn’t have done it!

I panicked and didn’t know what to do, she was clutching on to her right leg while groaning in pain. She shut her eyes tightly with tears sliding through her eyelids. Oh lord, what should I do? I hug her and brought her to my chest,” Hey, stay with me!”

What a troublesome! I carried her bridal-style and lay her down on the soft ground. What should I do? If I call for help, I’ll be leaving her deep inside the forest. God knows how delicious she might be. Carrying her back isn’t a best option. If I trip, I’ll injure her leg even more. What was she even doing her in the middle of the night!?

I looked around to think of something and sure enough something caught my eyes. Some herbs were growing on the other side of the lake. Oh yeah, I brought some med along with me just for in case, that would be more useful. I took some and tore my left hand’s sleeve.
