Clint had come up with the plan. All that was left to do was execute it. The timing was perfect. Peter just got back from patrol and Bucky had just left his room to hang out in the common room.
"Hey Peter, Bucky?"
The young adults looked up at the older man.
"Don't you think your betting is getting out of hand?"
Peter frowned and Bucky stood up.
"No Clint, I don't. I need to prove I'm better than Spider child over there."
Clint acted like he was thinking about something.
"Well, I have an idea. What if you did one big bet to settle once and for all who is the best?"
Peter was intrigued.
"What did you have in mind?"
The archer smirked knowing his plan was working.
"I was thinking, the stakes need to be high, and since it's for all the marbles, it should be endurance. Since you both have different powers, it's not fair to do physical challenges. I have something special in mind. It is something both of you would have trouble with and it involves skill in deception."
Both younger men were excited now.
"What is it?"
"You need to... pretend to date."
The two younger males had a large reaction to this. Peter spoke up first after they had finished their mini tantrum.
"There is NO WAY I would EVER date, even pretending, that dumb ass Soldier."
