"Dad. You're here. Why don't mom explain things to you?" I turned away to the window.
"What is the meaning of this Byulyi?" He shouted, his voice stern.
I pointed to my mom.
My mom turned to my dad and spoke to him
His eyes bulged and a vein in his neck popped out.
"Byul, I understand you want to be a military officer, but it is too dangerous!" He said.
"I don't care. I want to." I said, raising my eyebrows at him.
"Byul." He warned.
"Dad." I replied with the same amount of annoyance in my voice.
"Very well, you are allowed to go. But Byul, please. Be safe." He said, turning away from me and my mom.
"Thank you dad." I said, slightly smiling.

"Well, we're here. You have your admission letter with you?" My dad asked.
I stepped out of the car and nodded.
"Take care Byulie, I love you." He bid goodbye to me and waved.
"I love you too, dad." I smiled and waved back.
I stepped into the office and walked over to the counter.
"You must be the new cadet?" The receptionist asked, standing up.
"Yes." I answered.
"Here is your room, and your schedule." He said, passing my a folder and keys.
I checked the tag on the keys.
"9/6, 6-19" I said, finding the right room.
I walked through 2 dim hallways and arrived to a rather worn door.
I inserted the keys and turned them
*Click* The door opened and I entered the room.
Small and musty smelling, the experience was totally different from my primped up bedroom. And I loved it.
I set my bags down and smiled in satisfaction.
I read my schedule, noting that I had 3 hours of free time before briefing and dinner.
I walked over to the unoccupied bunk bed and set my schedule on it.
I pulled out a mop and bucket from the side closet and filled it with water and clean soap.
I tied my hair back and scrubbed the floor till it shined.
Well, it smelt a lot better now.
I then loaded all the curtains, and bedspreads into the washer and washed them, noting that the bedspreads were initially blue, but the color had faded.
Plugging in a table light to brighten up the room, I wiped and polished the windows, allowing natural light to flood in.
*Ding* Ahh, the laundry is done.
I climbed over the load of bags and pulled the washed and dried sheets out of the washing machine.
Setting up the curtains, I stepped back to admire my handiwork.
After tucking in the blankets, I had just enough time to take a shower.
I soaked myself in the small bath and washed my hair thoroughly.
Tying my hair back in a slick ponytail, I pulled on the cadet uniform.
I then grabbed my folder and keys and walked out, making sure my door was locked.
"Cadet!" Someone shouted.
I turned.
A lady was standing there, smiling warmly at me.
"Yes ma'am?" I asked.
"The captain wants to talk to you." She said, motioning for me to follow her.
I walked fast behind her, memorizing the turns she took.
"Captain! Here's the new cadet!" She saluted sharply.
I tried to copy her but ended bowing instead.
"Come in." A gruff voice answered.
"Yes sir." I stepped in.
"Cadet. Welcome to the force." He said, clapping his hands.
"Thank you sir." I bowed.
"My name is...
