After Akashi was sure that everyone was in good condition, everyone retired back to their various residences to recover from the intense battle.
"Oh man, that was a close one... Had you come any later we probably would have been toast!" Shikikan chuckles as he unceremoniously jams his key into the lock, roughly twists and kicks the door open before almost immediately flopping onto the tatami.
"Shikikan? Are you okay?" Shinano asks as she slips off her sandals and helps Shikikan get back on his feet.
"Just completely exhausted, that's all." Shikikan replies. "And glad to be alive."
"I guess that's fair." Shinano says but then something begins running through Shikikan's mind, something she notices. "Is something wrong?"
"I just now realized... Everyone that was out there just witnessed something that was supposed to be a legend..." Shikikan says upon realization.
"And what's that mean?" Naganami asks. "Shouldn't they be even more scared of us?"
"No..." Shikikan replies. "If we know anything about the Eagle Union, it's that they are known for taking stuff that looks powerful and using it for themselves. It's how they managed to keep the Ironbloods at bay for so long..."
"Are you seriously thinking they're going to try and kidnap Shinano?" Naganami asks. "What makes you think that the Eagle Union could pull off a stunt like THAT?!"
"They're about as unpredictable as I'd imagine them to be." Shikikan replies. "For all we know they could already have a plan at the ready."
"Oh stop being such a worrywort!" Naganami laughs. "There's no way they could plot something like this! We got the place pretty well defended, and with how far they have to go to actually reach us, would it actually be worth their time?"
"When it comes to the Eagle Union? They'll do anything if they have the resources for it." Shikikan says.
"Please... Do not worry so much." Shinano replies. "I am just as capable of defending myself as the others. My show of strength may have put them off."
"I wouldn't put that so lightly." Shikikan says. "I'll have to speak with Akagi about this matter quickly."
"Shall I come with you?" Shinano asks.
"It would be appreciated." Shikikan replies as he beckons Shinano to come with him. From there they head to the shrine where Akagi has been pacing around much to Kaga's concern.
"Sister, we'll be all right." Kaga says. "I'm sure it won't be that serious."
"Sounds like she has the same concerns that I have." Shikikan says, and Akagi turns to him.
"What do you mean?" Akagi asks.
"You're worried about Shinano, aren't you?" Shikikan asks again. Akagi looks like she's just been asked to strip before nodding her head.
"How on earth did you know THAT?!" Akagi replies. "You just got to know Shinano literally a week ago!"
"Because we all saw that display of firepower." Shikikan says. "It was out where everyone could see it- the Eagle Union, the Royal Navy and the Ironbloods, they ALL saw it."
"Please... You two are starting to worry me with how worried you are." Shinano pleads. "We will be okay."
"I still can't trust that the others won't think of trying to take you away from us." Shikikan says. "With powers like yours, we could either turn the war in our favor or they could use it to absolutely crush everyone in their path... We can't let powers like yours fall into the wrong hands."
"Shikikan, sister, I've spotted something on the maps. It looks suspicious." Kaga calls out, interrupting the conversation.
"We'll discuss more later, for now we have to deal with whatever Kaga found." Shikikan says as he and Akagi follow Kaga into the projector room.
"So, what have we got?" Shikikan asks. "Seems like we can't catch a break can we?"
"Doesn't quite seem like it." Kaga replies. "There's been more strange activity going on between the Eagle Union and the Royal Navy. Perhaps they've been surprised at the sudden appearance of Shinano."
"That cluster of blips sure tells us something... But why this place of all places?" Shikikan asks. "What's that place called... Greenland?"
"That's odd indeed." Akagi replies. "Do you think they're going to launch an attack at some point?"
"I don't know honestly." Kaga says. "They just got there."
"Well I do appreciate you bringing that up." Shikikan replies.
"I don't think we need to take any action, but do keep your eye on that cluster." Akagi says.
