"Fiiinnn! Come on, I wanna go to the disco!" Anna begged, clinging onto her cousin's hand and pouting slightly.

"I really don't think we should go, I mean-"

"But everyone is going, except us! And Mummy said that I could go as long as one of you took me, and Jack said he's busy!"

"What about Brooke?"

"She said only if you come!"

Brooke looked up from across the room, where she was charging her phone. "Yeah, come on Finn - don't be a spoil sport."

"See!"

"But- but-"

"Finn stop being a spoil sport." His mum called from the other room. How she even heard what was going on was a mystery, although he put it down to the super sonic hearing parents always seemed to obtain whenever you weren't doing what you were supposed to.

"Fine."

"Yay! Let me go and get my party dress on!"

"Okay ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for.... Karaoke time!" DJ Rex punched the air, looking extremely excited.

That was everyone's cue to try and leave as fast as possible, or look down at their table and avoid eye contact with the DJ.

"Any volunteers to start us off, eh?"

A bunch of children under the age of eleven, all thrust their hands into the air.

Finn admired their courage - they apparently did not understand the lifelong embarrassment that would accompany the backing music.

"Ah, Finn! Thanks for volunteering!"

This. Wasn't. Happening.

He felt Brooke shove him up towards the booth, and he stumbled slightly, looking around for a hope of rescue.

Nothing.

Gulping, he moved to the spot DJ Rex pointed to, where the man manoeuvred a karaoke machine in front of him, and pressed the microphone into his hand.

Sunglasses by Tracy Ullman began to play.

It was at that moment he saw Piper with her hand clamped over her mouth, trying to hold in the giggles. He hadn't even started singing.

Deep breath in, deep breath out.

"I got my swimcap and comb..."

"It wasn't that bad."

"Stop trying to spare my feelings."

"Well in that case it was terrible. You completely butchered our summer anthem!"

"I wish you spared my feelings." Finn groaned, wishing the ground would open up and swallow him. This was the second most embarrassing thing that had happened to him - after the fruity moons commercial being leaked around his high school.

Brooke patted his shoulder, and slid his glass of apple juice towards him.

"Hey, maybe the embarrassment of wearing a pineapple costume tomorrow will over rule it."

"I thought you said we shouldn't carry on the bet!"

"Serves you right for making the bet I the first place."
