Part 13

"YUYAAAAA!!!!!"

Daiki's scream wakes everyone in the infirmary. Yabu rushes towards Daiki, making sure the agitated boy did not fall off the bed.

"Dai-chan, calm down!" Yabu yells. But Daiki keeps resisting. He pushes Yabu away and pulls the intravenous cannula on the dorsum of his left hand. With blood still dripping from the cannula site, Daiki gets on his feet, wobbly walking to the door.

"Stop Dai-chan! You'll hurt yourself!" Yamada-who also stayed back in the infirmary since morning- grabs Daiki's left wrist, stopping the semiconscious boy from going further.

"Yuya is dying Yama-chan! I must find him!!!"

"Yuya is fine! Just stop moving!!" Yamada tries to bring Daiki to sit on a nearby chair.

But Daiki refuses. He keeps walking around the room with unstable gait. Not long after he trips and fall on the floor.

"I need to see him... I must..." the boy begins to weep. "Take me to him Yama-chan. Please... I beg you... I can't lose him... I can't..."

Yamada kneels and put his hand on Daiki's shoulder. It breaks his heart seeing his best friend in this state. Daiki fainted during their TV show recording this morning. He was rushed to the company's infirmary. Daiki had hypoglycemic attack. The boy has not eaten much for the past week. He has been staying up all night crying and hoping Takaki would answer his call. The show's recording was instantly cancelled. Daiki's sugar level normalized after a few boluses of fluid, but he remains unconscious throughout the day. Now and then Daiki mumbled Takaki's name with tears come out from his shut eyes.

"Everyone is safe Dai-chan. Yuya too."

"He had accident! He's crushed by a tree! There's blood everywhere!"

"It was just a nightmare... please, calm down a bit."

"No! It was real!!!"

"Dai-chan..."

Daiki stunts. Yamada let go of Daiki's hand, allowing the boy to slowly turns around. Daiki could not believe his eyes. There Takaki is, kneeling right next to him.

"Yuya..." Daiki touches Takaki's cheek with his right hand, making sure that he is not dreaming. He can feel it, the warmth of his lover against his skin.

He is alive. Yuya is alive!

Takaki gently holds Daiki's hand and kisses it lovingly. The lovers look into each other's eyes dearly for a few moments, before Takaki pulls Daiki into his arms.

Yabu gets closer to Yamada, smiling as they witness the lovers' reunion. He gives Yamada a quick eye signal, in which Yamada immediately understands. Slowly the two exits the infirmary, allowing the lovebirds some alone time.

"Baka..." Takaki gently strokes his boyfriend's head. "What were you thinking?"

Daiki does not reply. He rubs his face onto Takaki's chest, immersing himself in his lover's warmth.

Takaki kisses Daiki's forehead. He gets up and cradle-carry Daiki to the infirmary bed. Only then Daiki realizes where he is.

"What happened?"

Takaki slowly lays Daiki on the infirmary's bed. "You passed out during Itajan recording."

"I did?" Daiki looks puzzled. He could not recall anything other than stepping into the studio earlier today. He takes a glance at the window, noticing the sun is starting to set. 

I must have passed out for hours.

Takaki wets a small towel and sits on the bed, facing his boyfriend. Gently, he lifts Daiki's left hand and wipes the dry blood stains around the cannula site. Daiki watches his beloved tending to him with teary eyes. He misses Takaki so much. The pain of losing Takaki- even if it was just in his dream- scarred his heart to the core. Daiki leans forward. Like a baby he curls and rest his head on Takaki's chest.
