Away for the weekend

Guess whos back. I was gone longer then expected. Hit a low point and had no motivation. But I'm back and feeling ok.

We all sat at the dinner table in our respected seats, there was small chatter but nothing I needed to pay to close attention to. Just the clattering of forks and the chewing of food, Donny always makes a good meal.

The light dinner noises were broken by max tapping on the table, that then turned into knocking. The sighed letting out a groan with it, The rest of the table then turned to look at him.

"I'm too excited," Max whined. 'what is he excited for?'

"You two do this every year, yet you get so excided without fail," Finn spoke with a grin. 'wait what's going on? what's happening?'

"You leave tomorrow, right? Are you packed?" Evan questioned dropping his voice at the end to sound more intimidating. 'Tomorrow? Where are they going?"

"Well, I'm packed. I can't say the same Max though," Quinn said with salt in his voice. "I'm almost packed," Max rise his voice defending himself.

I still wasn't sure what was going on, all I knew was that Max and Quinn were going away somewhere.  Which wasn't a lot to go off of. Rick looked over to me, he realized that I had no Idea what was going on. He had a sorry look on his face.

He giggled a little before speaking, "You look a little confused there, not to worry. Ki-Quinton and max are going on a little trip. They go to a DandD convention every year, so they'll be gone for the weekend." He stuttered a little as he said Quinton, or maybe he changed what he was gonna say.

Max then continued to explain in more detail, getting overly excited. Even Quinn seemed to get excited, despite keeping is mono-toned appearance. Both were quite cute, I wish they could be this happy all the time.

By the time I woke up Max and Quinn were long gone. They had to leave early to get there on time, I hope their having fun. It might be a little boring without Max around, But not so much Quinn, he's quiet most of the time. It's the weekend so I don't have any school I still have some work to do, but I'll do that later.

I head down stairs to see all the boys on the couch, except for Max and Quinn of course.

"Augustus, did you know my birthdays coming up," Donny said with joy in his voice. "It's on the 23ed,' he continued.

I sorta began to panic, I don't have enough money for a present. I wouldn't even know what to get him. This is horrible timing. why cant your birthday be later.

"hey hey hey, Don't worry too much about it," Finn said waving his hand for me to calm down, " We don't usually focuses to much on gifts, its just on gift form all of us. You will be included."

That's really reassuring. I actually like the way that's done, it takes the pressure off the single person and all in all makes it less awkward in my opinion

"Soooo," Don said with a sly look on his face. " have you bought my present yet?" 

"No, we haven't," Rick responded.

"That's a lie, you have it. Where is it?" Donny questioned. "Your horrible at lying, I just keep guessing places it could be and when you lie, I'll get to see what you got me."

I decided to step in on the convocation, "Doesn't that ruin the fun of getting a gift if you already know what it is?"

Don then responded with, "Nope, I'm gonna go find it." he then left the living room.

The rest of the day had gone on as normal, It was a little different though it might have been the fact that we no longer had Max's high energy or that we no longer had Quinn to keep us in cheek or maybe the boys simply missed them. It was odd how they function, despite all the blatant cheating, they still ran as one unit it was incredible. Of course, its still not ok to cheat.

It was now close to dinner time, so I head down stairs to see what's cooking. All the boys were in the living room again and Evan called me over.

"August, We were gonna call puuuu-Max and Quinton," Fabian said in an awkward tone and what is up with them messing up the Others name?

But anyway, I'll stay for the call, I've been living here long enough that I consider the boys acquaintances maybe friends?

Finn pulls out his computer going on to call one of them. who ever it was their contact name was saved a "puppy🐶". I look at the screen as Max picks up the phone, I then realize what 'puppy' meant.  It was just a gross couple name he didn't bother to hide.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Finn said, " oh, August Is here too." A wave a little awkwardly with a small hi. I bring my attention to the computer screen, Max looks like he's at some sort of desk in the hotel room. while Quinn was on the bed behind him looked exhausted. as a matter of fact, there was only one bed in the room, no surprise there. But non of the other boys seemed to show any concern for it. there all so oblivious. 

I began to focus more on Quinn and Max then I did the room. Both of the boys were in semi removed knight and princely attire. I'm assuming a getup for the convection, I could only imagine how much they got bullied in high school. Despite how nerdy this whole thing was it was still cute, now definitely not my cup of tea but who am I to take away theirs.   

Max continues to talk about the day and all the thing he did showing us stuff he bought And generally just ranting about DandD. Quinton spoke a little bit, but it was mostly max. Max talked as much as a dog who's owner just got home. Quinton says the goodbyes for Max as he didn't want to leave the call.

The call comes to an end and we go to the dining room to eat our meal.

The next day we did the same thing. We all gathered around the couch and called Max and Quinn.

They were outside this time, probably because it was much earlier in the morning they were most likely just entering the con. They were with a three other people most likely from their party.

They continue to talk about things I didn't quite understand, I doubt the other did too but they enjoyed how happy it made Max and Quinn. The two boys still wore their nerdy outfits, but I admired how confident they were.

Just like yesterday we said our goodbyes and everyone went their sperate ways.

The day went on as normal with some completes about missing the others, this only reminds me of the things I wish I could forget. Their cheating, it's a horrible feeling knowing this. I'm not sure if I should tell them that I know to save them from the situation their in, or not tell them because it's non of my business and I don't want to ruin the friendships and relationships they have. But if it were me I would want to know, I wouldn't want to stay in a toxic relationship like that.

I wander my way to the kitchen, knowing dinner will be ready soon, Donny was standing at the stove finishing up with the food. Fabian sat on the contour beside him, taking glances at the food idly ask if its ready yet. On the other side of the room was Rick who lazily scrolled through his phone.

Going back to the food it smelt amazing, Donny turned off the stove sliding the pan of the burner. Rick got of his phone making his way over to Don to see the food. Donny started to get the food out of the pan so it could go on the table. When...

Fabian leaned down to Dons height from his place on the counter and gave him a kiss, right in front of Rick. Rick didn't look shocked or angry, instead he had a pout on his face he quietly asked if he could have a kiss to and with that Donny got on his tippy toes and gave Rick a peck on the lips, Fabian just sat there and smiled.

What the Hell is going here. Either this is some kind of new level cheating or this is something else entirely. Wait, what if they see me. I take my moment to sprint up the stairs to my bed room.
