Dedication is to my friend Maus, reason? Awesome... nuff said
For about two hours, I stood hunched over the digital schematics and computerized hologram images of the new suit. It took forever but I finally found a design that I was satisfied with. A nice simple one, I kinda ditched the metal skirt and went with the normal look. The colors weren’t the same either, they were black and dark blue. The eyes would glow red as well as the mouth. It was really a piece of work. One that I was deeply proud of.
I leaned back in the chair and sighed. “JARVIS. What do you think?”
“It looks nice sir.” The A.I. replied.
“No. Not the suit. What do you think about my decision?”
JARVIS sounded like he wanted to sigh as well. “Honestly? Well, honestly I think that you should wait a little longer. Before you left, your father planted a small bug that watches in on the Director. The videos show him trying to find you, trying to get you back. For the press to catch a picture of Iron Girl flying through the air would catch his attention and he would be here in no time.”
I nearly fell out of my chair hearing that dad had planted the bug but I should’ve seen that one coming. Also, I thought about the news and press as well. This could be a problem, but… it was worth the risk. And if Fury came, I’d kick him out, no problem. Slowly, I nodded, nibbling on the end of my pen. “I understand your cautiousness JARVIS and I thank you. But I thought of all of this. Though I didn’t know my dad had planted that bug. Again thanks, but if Fury came, he would be gone within three minutes of entering.”
“Are you sure sir?”
“I am JARVIS.”
There came the sigh. “All right.”
Soon enough, Dad came back down. He carried a mug of coffee for himself and a glass of probably Seven-Up for me, or so it looked like. He typed in the password and came in. “Hey kiddo,” he said, placing the glass next to me. His eyes scanned the holographic suit before him and nodded his approval. “Looks nice. You come up with that yourself?”
“Yeah.”
“Very nice. Hey, up for visiting Rodey?”
I sprung out of my seat. “Absolutely!!! I haven’t seen him for at least a year!”
“Great, we’re gonna leave in an hour, kay?”
“Sweet!!” I ran upstairs, overly excited about this. You see, Uncle Rodey wasn’t really my uncle but he was pretty dang close enough. Rodey is Dad’s best friend and lesion between Stark Industries and the military. Or he WAS the lesion. Honestly, I was closer to him than I was Pepper.
I was pretty shifty with Pepper Pots. She and Dad kinda had a thing or eachother for a while, even while Mom was still around. But now she’s married to Dad’s body guard, Happy Hogan. Pepper knows that I don’t like her that much but she tries. I will give her that, she tries to make it up to me. But eversince mom died, I haven’t really spoken to her. Not that it’s her fault, but I see it better that I not talk to her for a while, I might explode because just seeing her would bring back bad, terrible memories.
Soon enough, the hour was up and Dad and I were on the jet to go to Rodey’s. But before we could take off, Dad’s phone went off. “Yello? Ye-ap. Oh… I’m coming.” He snapped his phone shut and jumped out of the jet, tapping something on his wrist. Soon his suit had jetted it’s way here and Dad was suiting up.
