Chapter 2: Diagon Alley

Mid August 1999, The Golden Trio and Ginny are getting ready for their return to Hogwarts for their final year. George has been busy running the joke shop, inventing new prank products nearly every week. Auther went back to work at the ministry and Molly has been holding herself up at home putting on a good face.

Ginny's POV

"I can't believe it's been a year since the war, since Fred..." I am sitting on the couch in front of the fire with Hermione drinking wine. It's nearly midnight and the boys aren't back from helping George get ready for the big invasion to come as the start of the new schooling year begins.

"What is taking the boys so long?" Hermione asks before taking a huge gulp of wine. "I mean how long does it take to set up?" She gives me a questioning look.

"I think they gonna be a while longer, so I'm going to bed soon. We have an early morning tomorrow so we can go to Diagon Alley." I told her as I finished off my glass of wine.

We walked up the stairs to my room and got into bed. "Good night, Hermione." "Good night, Gin" she said while switching all the lights off.

Time skip: Next morning

Ginny's POV

It's the war after the first battle at Hogwarts. Fred is dead... We, The Weasleys, are shattered kneeling down next to my brother's still warm body as I am trying to believe that he is gone. Trying to let go. Trying to cry and mourn. Trying. Trying. Trying.

I wake up with silent tears streaming down my cheeks, reminding myself it was just a nightmare.

Calming down, I looked at the clock on the wall, it's only 3am. I get out of bed and go downstairs. Someone else is awake...

George!?

"Hey" he says while gulping firewiskey. "Same nightmare again?" I ask him. "Yeah. You?" I nod.

I join him and we drink the whole bottle of firewiskey. At 5am we fell asleep...

7:30am

Footsteps sounded from the stairs as George and I started to wake up. First Hermione, mom, and then Harry came down 5 minutes later. The four of us sat and chilled for an hour while mom was making breakfast.

"Breakfast is ready!" She shouted up the stairs. We heard groans coming from Ron and dad coming down the stairs. "Good morning" he says as he walks past us into the kitchen. The four of us walk into kitchen saying "Good morning" as we sit down. As we start filling our plates with food, Ron comes in and immediately starts digging into the bacon.

Breakfast came to an end and we all thanked mom for the food. "We leave in 15 minutes" dad says before we leave. We went to our rooms and got dressed to go to Diagon Alley.

Hermione and I decided on wearing skinny jeans and a top with takkies.

"Is everyone ready?" Dad asks from the living room with mom and George, as Hermione and I are on the stairs. Harry and Ron were behind us as we walked into the living room.

Seeing we all are of age, we apparated to Diagon Alley instead of using the Floo network. We landed in The Leaky Cauldron. It was rather quiet as we walked the streets of Diagon Alley.

"Firstly, we need to get your books" mom says to us and George chuckles. "Shouldn't you be at the shop?" I ask as we walk into the book shop. "I need to get some last minute things and a few books before I head to the shop" he says with a soft smile. "And besides Jenn is there, she's my manager."

Time skip: 3 hours later

After shopping for all their school appliances Ginny, George, Harry, Ron and Hermione decide to head back to the Leaky Cauldron to grab a drink while Molly and Auther run a few errands.

As they walk into the pub Hermione heads to the bar to order their drinks while the rest grab a table. "Hello Granger" a stranger greets. Hermione turns around and sees...

Hermione's POV

"Draco Malfoy!?" I thought to myself, staring at him in shock. "What do you want, Malfoy?" I ask in an annoyed tone. "Well Granger you see I just came to get a drink with the gang. We are getting ready for the new year of Hogwarts" he says so calmly.

"What are you doing here?" he questions after a few minutes. "Same as you... I am surprised you are returning to Hogwarts... after the war I thought you were done." " Why do I feel so at ease talking to him? Why is coming back? After everything? Why? Why? Why?" Questions filled my head rapidly.

"I wasn't going to, but things changed. I changed." he says as he calls the bartender. "Four firewhiskeys please" he looks at me to order. "Three firewhiskeys and two wines" I say. He pays and walks away with his order. "Wait, did he just pay for ours? What the hell!!!" I thought but decided to send a note with the bartender thanking him and walked to our table.

Blaise's POV

"Mate, what took you so long?" Draco looked as if he had just been running a marathon. "I saw her, she's here with the gang!!!" He said as he calmed down.

"What did you just say?" I ask confusedly. "I just saw Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley is also here!!!" He says hurriedly.

I panic but I start feeling a happy sensation bubble up within me and it's not my feelings. "Ginny!?"

I know this was just a filler but I hope you like it. I am heading into my Matric Finals so it'll be a while with the update. I am sorry about that. I should be able to update a few chapters before I start finals.
