It made complete sense. The attack was revenge on her own Mother. The Basilisk was supposed to kill her... but it didn't. Something had held it back. Then, it all made sense... it hadn't killed her because she was a full-blood. It had wanted to, but it's instinct and ancestors forbid it. She got lucky. But she might not again. She took a deep breath and replied to Draco, "It didn't kill me because I'm a full-blood, but it wanted to". He nodded, it made sense. "The person who wanted revenge might try again" he suggested grimly. Astoria could see the worry in Draco's face, and hated it with all her heart. "Well, not right now" she had declared. "Besides in two days we will be safe in Hogwarts" she had smiled nervously. "Right, safe" Malfoy had repeated. They both knew that wasn't true, the Basilisk had gotten too Astoria in Hogwarts and it probably could once again.
They were in constant danger.
