Rae, from CLN's Vintage, had the chance to sit with the very fun and talented author, LINALOUICE. Lina is the author of Beyond The Mud, When Nightmares Come True - BJYX and many other stories on Wattpad
Hi! My name's Rae and I'll be interviewing you today from the Crazy Late Nighters Community; before we start I would just like to say thank you for accepting this offer.
Hello! I'm Lina. Thank you, Rae and the Phoenix, for having me.
Hello Lina, So let's get started with you telling us a little about yourself.
From species Homo Sapien, I'm Lina Louice. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
I am an Artist by hobby and hopefully by profession too. I make comics
and write stories for pleasure.
Wow! That's nice to hear and I'm sure that you will achieve the profession you want. So how did you get interested in writing? What caught your attention and drew you to it?
Thank you, Rae! Hoping for the best. Well, when I was little, after watching movies, I would often think about what would happen after the Ending; especially if the movie didn't have a sequel. I would daydream about the possibilities and that led me
to draw comics and now stories. Of course, the story needs to have a strong impact on me to do that.
That's so nice to hear! Often I myself wonder about my favourite characters and what happens to them later in the future. What was the movie or book that had the biggest impact on you? That made you feel the need to pick up your pencil and just draw or write something?
For the drawings, I just doodle whatever. It mostly depends on my moods and emotions. Other times, if I am not really satisfied with a story, I'd urge myself to make a comic so my heart would settle at least. Like in Big Hero 6, (Spoiler Alert!) Tadashi Hamada dies taking my heart with him T_T. So, I came up with a comic where Hiro Hamada finds him again.
There are many inspirations for drawings but for the writing, it was Modaozushi; a Chinese novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. The story is marvellous but there are just so many questions that I wanted to be answered. I went through all of their interviews to satisfy my curiosity but there were still many mysteries left to be solved. Like what is the name of Lan Wangji's bunnies? Frustrated, I decided to fill in those blanks and thus came my first complete work 'Beyond the Mud'. I tried my best to connect the dots, link the characters while keeping their personality in line with the original author's work. It was hard, but I enjoyed it a lot.
You seem very passionate about what you like, that's one amazing quality you have and personally I loved Big Hero 6 and I really cried at that one (and many) moment(s).
So, are most of your characters taken/inspired by other fictional characters or do you make your own characters from time to time? If yes are they inspired by someone or do you completely make them up in your mind?
I feel you T_T. Mostly I contribute to fandoms by making comics or writing stories. But I do have my original comics and story (It's in process though). The first story that I started (actually) writing was 'The One I Need'. I had no intention to publish it, I was writing it for the sake of gathering the plot because you wouldn't believe it, my memory sucks (So much so, that I forget my own character names XD).
I started writing it so when I draw, it would be easier for me to remember.
The characters in that story are all based on my imagination – an image of love which I wanted to relay to myself. Spoiler Alert: it's a tragedy XD
