Chapter 7

(Y/N) POV~
For the past week Suga seems to have been avoiding me. We've been friends for about half a month now and I don't know what I did. Could it be he got sick of getting rid of the people pestering me.

"Say Hi to Niko for me please," Sara said waving to me as we split up on our way home.!I nodded my head as I started walking towards the hospital.

My little sister Niko is in the hospital, and has been for awhile now. She has FOP, Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva.

It's one of the rarest most disabling genetic conditions known to medicine, at least that's what I was told. Basically FOP causes bone to form in muscles, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissue.

Overtime the process of the bones will slowly paralyze you, locking your body in place. There's no cure nor treatment so most likely if you have it you'll die before the age of 40, by which point you'll have been petrified to the stage where you can only move your lips.

Niko, a 10 year old girl, my little sister has it. I'm the only one who really visits. Our parents travel a lot for work and only visit one time well they're home, they try to forget. I've argued with them over it a lot but they never care. Niko tells me it's okay but I can tell it's not. All of our other family is either gone or doesn't live close. Sara will sometimes visit but isn't always allowed to, or is available.

I walked into the hospital and talked to the nurse quickly before heading to Niko's room. I knock on the door lightly and hear her small voice from inside telling me to come in.

I open the door and look at her smiling at me sitting up in her bed. Her hair is put up and she looks tired.

So far she's lost all movement in her legs, they're like some sort of part of a statue.

"Sara says hi," I say smiling as I close the door and pull a chair closer to her bed and sit down.

"We'll tell Sara I say hi," She says smiling, "How was school?"

"It was okay," I say smiling as I look through my bag.

"Were people pestering you again?" She also shaking her head as she puts the book she had just finished reading to the side.

"Well yes," I say pulling out a new book I got for her and some of her favourite snacks. She smiles as I give them to her.

"Thank you," She says putting them off to the side with a smile, "So what's going on with the boy, Sugawara?"

"I don't know," I say shaking my head and leaning back into the chair.

"Is he still avoiding you?" She asks, and I nod, "You know what, tomorrow I want you to go up to him and confront him about it, if not I will escape from the hospital some how and do it for you"

"Okay, I will," I say smiling.

"And I'll ask Sara about it so don't think you can fake it," she says, "Anyways I'm the best young detective out there"

Niko has always wanted to be a detective when she's older, even though we're pretty sure she won't be able to since... she may not... be here when she's old enough to become one. She acts like she doesn't know, but she does, and I can tell it hurts her, but she puts on a brave face for everyone, she wants to try and keep everyone as happy as possible.

"Okay, I will, I promise," I say smiling as we laugh.

"Good, or I'd kick your butt... but with my hands I guess," She says as she laughs slightly.

The rest of my time with her was nice. I go to the hospital every night to visit her, unless for some reason I'm unable to, I want to spend as much time with her as possible, until it's not possible anymore.

I walk home thinking about what I'm gonna say to Suga tomorrow. I wear very oversized hoodies when walking alone with the hood up to try and keep people away from me, especially at night.

"I guess I could just ask him," I mutter to myself as I walk into my house and lock the door behind me. My dog runs to the back door and I follow them.

I'm not very good at this whole confrontation thing, is that what you'd call it?

But oh well, I'm gonna have to, no I need to. It's been bugging me even if it's just been a week. The truth is, I think I may have fallen for Suga, of course I haven't told anyone, not even Sara, well actually I have told Niko. That's why she's demanding that I speak to him about it.

She's told me before to try and find love, so that I have someone. I know what she means by that, that I have someone other then Sara when she's gone.

I've never really had time to be interested in a boy, well let alone have any friends other then Sara, but it's happened and it's Suga.

"Okay, tomorrow you'll talk to him," I mutter to myself.
