OH Chapter 2

Cassidy's POV

"It's Cole Pendery."

Cole... Pendery?

I laughed so hard. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! OH COME ON, SAMMI. You got me there! Okay, now. Seriously, who's the lucky guy?" I said while wiping the tears from my eyes.

"I'm... Serious, Cass. I'm dating Cole," she said seriously.

I stopped my tracks and looked at her, "You're not joking, are you?"

"I'm not, Cassidy."

I facepalmed myself. "My God, Samantha! You know he doesn't get serious with all his relationships! He's just going to play with you! You'll get hurt!"

She looked at me with hopeful eyes. "He's serious with me. I can feel it, Cass. With pure sincerity, he's serious with me."

I went silent for a while, "When did he ask you out?"

"Yesterday."

I did a small wave to Sammi with a forced smile on my face as I got put of her car. She drove me home.

"Bye Sammi, see ya tomorrow." I told her. I can feel that she can sense the uneasiness in my tone, and I am gladly thankful that she just decided to let it go.

"Bye Cass." I smiled at her again, and was about to close the door when she called out my name one final time.

"Please don't overthink about me. I'm gonna be fine. I can handle myself," she said.

"Look, I'm sorry. Give me a few hours to move on from the shock. I'm really sorry, Sammi. I promise, tomorrow I'll be happy for you and... Cole." I closed the car door then turned back, waving at her.

I entered the house and saw my two older brothers in the living room, eating sandwiches while watching animé.

"Hi Cassidy. Sammi drove you home?" Andrei, my eldest brother said.

"Yeah." I quickly made my way to my room upstairs, and slumped myself on the bed.

I started to think about Sammi and Cole. Is that jerk really serious in dating my bestfriend? Because it doesn't look like the brightest bulb to me.

Suddenly, my thoughts became annoyingly irrelevant right now, and sleep started to creep on my eyes. I let the force take over my body, and soon enough, rest came in and everything went black.

"Cassidy? Dinner's ready."

I flutter my eyes open, and allowed myself to adjust to the brightness of the external illumination.

"Matt? How did you get in here?" I said. Matt, my other brother, was kneeling beside my bed.

"You forgot to lock your door," he said. "And dinner's ready. Dad told me to come here and wake you up."

"Okay, I'll go down in a sec."

I got up from my bed and went in the shower to take a quick one and put on my pajmas once I was done.

I went down and joined dinner, still thinking about the risk of Sammi getting hurt. I really hate that Pendery guy.

"Is something bothering you?" Andrew, my oldest brother, said. Dad gave me a look and raised his eyebrows.
