It's eleven in the evening. Dillard is laying down on his bed. He holds the Trevio phone with his right hand high in front of his face.
Again, different hairstyle?
Must be magic
Her pink tank top is cute
Agnes is looking at Dillard's face. "So how's the date?" she asks.
Dillard responds by shaking the phone, teasing Agnes. She plays along by putting a big book on top of her head and holding it with both of her hands, protecting her head. She shakes her body and acts as if her place was hit by an earthquake.
They both laugh.
Agnes's head suddenly gets bigger, and she is filling up the screen. It seems she moves closer to the camera until only her eyes and part of her face are visible. She acts as if she is trying to observe Dillard closely. "Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure you are in a good mood. Too bad you didn't bring me," Agnes says.
"Ha! As if I let you snooping around when I'm on a date."
"That's risky, who knows you will be followed again," Agnes lightly protests.
"Noted partner. I'll be more careful tomorrow."
It seems Agnes is happy hearing the word "partner". She is smiling rather widely. "So ? Tell me how it went," she asks.
"It was the first time I actually spoke to her as a man or friend or whatever it was, and not as an underling." Dillard put the Trevio phone down on the pillow beside him. His hand is getting stiff. His eyes are staring at his ceiling. "It felt good you know. I saw the other side of her. And I think she opened up a little."
"That's progress," Agnes comments.
"Yeah, thanks a lot. I really appreciate it."
"You're welcome, partner."
"Anyway, you said that you are always alone? How about we hang out together? Where do you live?"
Agnes pauses. She seems to be thinking about what answer she should give to Dillard. It lasts for almost half a minute.
"Close to the moon," she finally says with a straight face.
Her answer combined with her poker face somehow seems funny to Dillard. "Okay, okay, perhaps you had your reasons," Dillard says while having a hard time holding his laughs.
She seems sweet and harmless
No way she is a criminal mastermind
Right?
"Wait, I have another gift for you," Agnes says.
"What? What gift?"
"Wait until you see it yourself tomorrow," she teases.
