chapter 9 (Tris)

I was waiting for Tobias to get the movie we were going to watch. I really hate feeling usless but since the war is over there isn't anything more for me to do. I got comfortable and then Tobias came carrying two different movies.

"Okay what do you want to watch? I got Escape Plan and Clash of the Titans." He asked

"Lets watch Clash of the Titans." I said

He nodded and put the movie on. Then he got into bed with me. I leaned on him while he wrapped his arms around my waist. I think that halfway through the movie I fell asleep cause when I woke up the TV was off and Tobias was sleeping. As quietly as I could I got out and went to the kitchen. I got a glass of water.

I knew I wasn't suppose to be up and walking but I didn't want to stay in bed and wake Tobias just for a glass of water. I sat down and started thinking of what has happened so far.

I guess you can call it insanity but I just need to think about this. With almost all of my family dead, I still have Caleb. Tobias and Christina are still with me. Family doesn't end with blood so I guess my family is all here.

"Hey what woke you up? "

I jumped.

"Tobias dont scare me like that. " I scowled.

"sorry" he chuckled

I just rolled my eyes at him.

"What woke you up?" I asked him

"You not being there. Sleeping. Resting." he said

"I just wanted a cup of water." I said

"Okay but next time you need something while I'm awake promise me that you will ask." he said

"Fine I will ask." I told him

"Thank you now are you hungry or were you just thirsty?" He asked

"Just wanted a glass of water." I said

"Okay." he said

"Tobias. How...how did you feel when they told you they found my body half dead and half alive?" I asked him

"Torn. devastated. How do you think I felt? Finding out that the love of your life is almost dead, well was dead but came back to life? I felt happy and angry at the same time. Happy because you were alive. Angry because you didn't let Caleb go as we planned. Angry because of that thing shooting you. But happy because you chose to stay with me even if your family was up there." Tobias said

"My family is up there but it's also here. You, Caleb, and Christina. you guys are the only family I have left and I wanted to stay. I chose to stay because I love you all." I said.

I leaned up to him and kissed him. he kissed back bringing his hand to my cheek. we pulled apart and leaned till our heads were touching. we stayed like that for a while until I looked up. lifting my head and kissed his forehead.

"I won't leave you without telling you again. I promise." I said

"I would love to believe you but it's you we are talking about." Tobias joked

I playfully punched him on the shoulder.

"Let's go get a little sleep." Tobias said getting up.

I nodded and followed him to the bed. We said good night and I slept with my head on his chest and with his arms around my waist. Then I slept peacefully. Letting the darkness take me.
