Chapter Four: The Plan

**Harry's POV**

A piercing pain between my eyebrows wakes me up. Groaning, I remove the blanket off my face, allowing the rays of sunlight streaming through my bedroom windows to wake me up. I turn on my side and reach out beside me, looking for the familiar body of my beautiful Ashlyn. Coming up short, I feel just a cold and barren area. No sign of Ashlyn ever lying beside me exists. That's strange.

I swing my legs over the side of the bed, forcing myself to get up. Ignoring my painful headache, I make my way towards the kitchen. Aspirin and some coffee are definitely on my list of to do things this morning. I can't remember how much I drank last, only knowing that there is a great amount of alcoholic breverage in me.

I'm half way towards the kitchen, just passing the living room, when I hear the sound of Ashlyn crying. I stop immediately and turn towards the living room. Ashlyn is lying, curled in on her side, on the couch, her back to me. Her shoulders shake as she sobs, her arms around her stomach.

"Ashlyn?" I hear myself whisper and go to her, sitting beside her on the couch. Why is she upset? What has made her break down like this? Did she get some kind of phone call? "Babe, what's wrong?" I ask and put my hand on her back, rubbing slow circles.

She stills beneath my hand and that's when I know something's wrong between us. She didn't just get some kind of bad news that has caused her tears, but I've probably done something stupid when I was drunk last night. It wouldn't be the first time...

"Go away," she says angrily, her voice only slightly muffling from the cushions.

"Ashlyn, don't be like that-"

"DON'T Harry. DON'T start with me," she spits venomously and I remove my hand from her back. Shit, she is pissed off.

"Babe," I groan and turn her so she's looking up at  me. Her dark blue eyes are red-rimmed and her brown hair sticks to her face. She looks so indecent but normal, it's strange. However, her glare freaks me out. "What did I do this time?"

"You really don't remember?!"

I think back to last night. The last thing that I can remember is dancing with Ashlyn's body pressed up against my own. Other than that. it's a giant blank and a mindblowing headache.

"I don't remember."

Ashlyn rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. "Really."

"Really Ashlyn. I have no idea what I did wrong last night," I sigh and drop my head into my hands, pinching the bridge of my nose. How many times is this routine going to have to be repeated?

"Do you know what this symbolizes?" Ashlyn asks suddenly, holding out her right hand.

I look at the ring around her finger, sparkling and glistening, representing the love between us. "Our love?" I say doubtfully. If Ashlyn is going to randomly bring it up, there's got to be a reason as to why.

"No. It means that we are a team. This is your promise ring to me," she says and slips the ring off her finger. "Maybe, you shouldn't give it to someone unless you know you're going to keep those promises."

"What are you talking about?"

"You were kissing another girl Harry! Another girl! Just sitting there with her on your lap! God, it's like you two weren't going to come up for air either!" Ashlyn doesn't yell but talks instead with her voice heightened, her eyes wide with bitter anger. She only keeps her voice down because of the neighbors and our house staff.

I think about what she has just said. Is it true that I was kissing some other girl the other night? If it is, it's probably all over the internet by now. That's just great.
