Chapter 7 - the traitor

 Felicity and her father walk away. Venus and friends went back to the portage. Everyone was waiting for them. Zeke was standing there, with angry face. Turns out Vega had ratted them out. 

 Zeke: What were you guys thinking about? You could've died out there!                                         

 Venus: You should be thankful! We risked our lives to help the community.

 Zeke: How would your death help the community?

 Gia: Just think about it. Why would we go out at night to help our community. Obviously, we went there, to find out how strong they really are, so then we could come here and tell you, so we win and live in peace. If it wasn't for a snitch.

 Venus: Who ratted us out anyways?

 There's silence. 

 Venus: It was Vega, wasn't it?

 Still silence. Now Venus turns to Vega. She's furious. She stands in front of Vega and looks at her. 

 Vega: I can explain.

 Venus: No need. Why would you even snitch on us in the first place. You're supposed to be my sister not my enemy. We're supposed to cover up for each other. 

 She turns around looking at her father.

 Venus: I'm guessing you don't want to know what we found there.

 Gia: Guess you'll never know.

 A tall figure approaches. She has a shining tiara on her head, which catches Vega's eye. Everyone bows, except Venus and Vega. They look confused. Venus looks around. 

 Venus: Who are you and why is everyone bowing? 

 Zeke: Be polite! 

 Venus: I was just asking.

 A tall figure: Don't forget who rules this place, Zeke. You are just my assistant.

 Zeke: Yes ma'am.

 A tall figure: Let me introduce myself, Viottos. I am Nova Lynx, The head of this community.

 Noah: Hello mother.

 Venus: Mother? 

 Noah: Yes. She's my mother.

 Venus: But, your last names.. They don't..

 Noah: They don't match. I was born on the planet Earth with human parents. One day, we got in a terrible car crash. I was the only one that survived and since they didn't find my grandparents or any other relatives, I was put in adoption center. Then my mother (Nova) adopted me. Since then, I live here.

 Venus nods her head.

 Nova: Now that I've introduced myself. I'll ask you. Why did you sneak out at night with my son and two other children and put not only yours but their lives in danger too? Not only that, you almost gave away our location. Care to explain?

 Noah: It's not her fault..

 Nova: Noah, I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to her.

 Venus: Ma'am, we were just trying to help our community. We went there to see how strong they really were, and we got some information.

 Nova: Go ahead, tell us what you heard there.

 Venus: We heard Chief Nelson talking about the fallen space car near a hotel and that he sent his crew to check it out.

 She turns to her dad.

 Venus: Dad, care to explain?

 Nova's confused. Zeke knows what she's talking about.

 Nova: What does he have to explain?

 Venus: Let me tell you how we got here. We were moving to a new planet, when our space car fell. We fell near a hotel. Dad said he was going to fix it, so we could go back to our planet, but later he came with bad news. He said that space car had exploded. Turns out it hasn't. Why would you lie, dad?

 Libra:  You told us it was ruined.. You lied! But why?

 Zeke: I'll explain.. I am sorry. They found me and threatened me. The hunters told me they would kill you and our daughters if I didn't stay here and give them our location. I have to make a decision by tomorrow.

 Venus: Why would you do that! 

 Libra: Zeke, you betrayed not only us, but the whole community. We trusted you!

 Zeke: Honey, I am doing this for your and our daughters safety. They're too young to die. Space car is ready for us to leave tomorrow, chief Nelson said there won't be a problem.

 Nova: Zeke, enough is enough. You traitor! Take him to the dungeons right now.

 Soldiers: Yes ma'am!

 Venus is speechless. It's a lot for one day. It's hard to process.

 Soldiers put Zeke in dungeons. He laughs. His evil laughter frightens the birds, and other animals. They run, fly. Trying to escape the crazy man whose only intension is to protect his dear wife and daughters. 

 Zeke: I'll wait here, until they realize that chief already knows where they are..
