The trip back to Konoha was quiet. Even the loudmouth Suigetsu didn't talk. He still had that happy yet kind grin on his face but he didn't complain. They arrived at Konoha around evening and the night wasn't something Sakura was looking for.

The nightmares came back even though they changed a bit. They were about Mizuki. Each one of them pictured Mizuki turning his former disciple down and shunning her just like the rest of Konoha. Sakura had fallen  into such a deep sleep that she didn't wake up even when the door of her room opened rather not gracefully.

The person that entered the room drags his feet and came by the whimpering girl's side. He looked down at the trembling and sweating form and smiled sorrowfully. He pushed some strands of pastel punk hair out of her face and caressed her cheek making her stir slightly.

(In Sakura's dream)

Sakura was currently running away from Mizuki. He had a sinister smile on his face and was rushing calmly after her with poisoned senbon needles in his hands. It was as if she couldn't run. She didn't have the strength to drag her legs.

Just when a senbon embended itself in her back reaching her spine and cracking it, Sakura felt a soothing feeling. Something cool caressing her gently. That's when she was finally allowed to leave her nightmares for the time being.

The moment she was released her eyes flattered open and she looked through hazy eyes. The better she could distinguish was the silver mop of gravity-defying hair. She smiled weakly when she realised who it was. He sat on the king sized bed and ruffled her hair with his big and rough hands.

Then he spoke in that deep voice of his that managed to relax every inch of Sakura's the body. "Good morning there, Sakura." She wiped her eyes and saw his face clearly then. That sole eye of his hiding a sadness that she had come to realise since they spent  a lot of time together.

"Why so sad Kakashi?" She asked him worried and noticed him tensing. He sighed and let out a chuckle. "Never miss a thing I see. Sakura I should be asking you. You are a mess." She giggled at his misleading reply.

"New nightmares. Nothing too unusual though." She tried to sit up and he helped her wrapping his arms around her shoulders and pulling her in his lap. "So how was your mission Kakashi?"  She hooked a delicate finger in his mask nonchalantly and tugged it to reveal his face. I
She had actually seen his face a few times.

Majestic and beautiful. His characteristics strong yet kind. The scar marking the left side of his face resembling a beast. He was the most handsome, strong but also damaged man she had  ever managed to get this close to.

He didn't always let her take off his mask but this time he didn't prevent her from pulling it down. She pushed his hitai-ate aside and uncovered his mismatched crimson eye. She traced his scar with her fingertip as it had become a habit of hers. He also had gotten used to it so he didn't particularly mind.

"It was relatively easy. Naruto kept goofing around and Sai kept calling him dickless." Her eyes widened, her finger stopped on his cheek and she looked at him confused. "Naruto? Wasn't he training with Jiraiya while travelling?" His eyes saddened and Sakura sighed in understanding. "For how long has he been in Konoha?" "About a month."He replied carefully.

"I see. Well wanna eat breakfast?" His eyes instantly lightened and he jumped up nearly dropping the girl in his lap. She playfully giggled at his childness as he dragged her to the kitchen. Kakashi sat down and pushed the Kunoichi expectantly towards the fridge. She chuckled and started preparing breakfast.

They spent the rest of the day talking. He told her about his mission with amazing detail and she told him about hers. Fortunately Itachi had been summoned by Tsunade so he was off Sakura's back.

It was around 5 in the afternoon when they decided to go check up on Sai. They walked to his favourite spot and came across the familiar blue shining waters of the nearby lake. Sai, as predicted, was calmly sitting by it with his sketchbook. He seemed so focused that didn't notice them until a small hand was placed on his shoulder.

He turned expressionless and faced his two teammates. He smiled at them greeting with a "Hello ugly." as Sakura sighed, already used to the tactless nickname. Kakashi sat first with Sakura following suit close after and taking her own place beside Sai.

They absent-mindedly chatted around most of the evening when their peace was intruded by an all too familiar Anbu cladded male. He swiftly told them of Tsunade's orders to head straight to the Hokage's office and they all complied, although Haruno Sakura grudging.

Clicking her tongue, and she grabbed the ANBU's vest bidding her goodbyes to her confused friends.

Before giving any time for a response , she made a few handsigns and they transported in Tsunade's office.

The first thing Sakura saw was a pair of angry golden eyes as Tsunade straightened her back upon their arrival. The pink haired apprentice let go of the Anbu's vest and pushed him aside lightly. Her emerald eyes scanned the room for the shinobi inside and saw some interesting faces. 'Shikamaru, Ino, Chouji , Sasuke , Karin , Naruto, Yamato , Shizune , Jiraiya and Tsunade lastly. What do you say this is about Inner?' 'If I had to guess it's not something pleasant and exciting. What do you say Shisui-kun?' 'Well I also think it's not something good. Right Sakura-chan?' He said in that voice of his too nonchalantly for her taste. She sweat dropped at them and answered Shisui. 'Shisui I see you've become a regular. Anyway thanks for the valuabe advice guys, gee.'

All it took was a blink of her forest green eyes and Tsunade flicked her forehead too hard for comfort. Sakura stumbled back a bit and looked at her confused rubbing her forehead. "Why would you do that so suddenly?"

She only chose to fume and snapped right back.

"Sakura you insolent brat!" Poison dripping from her every word was a given.
