Don't wake me up..[Naruto Shippuden fanfic]

A present for Itachi.

"Long time no see Itachi. You have grown a lot." As Sakura frowned when she felt Shisui's soul trembling and shivering, she gritted her teeth helplessly.

Seeing him in this state wasn't sth she could particularly handle. Even if she had just met him she had become attached to him since he took so good care of her. He was always so kind and bubbly that she had felt her heart was warm once again.

The room was paralized in silence. Noone moving, just standing still. Itachi started trembling slightly, barely noticable but it still was there. 'Inner?' 'Yes Sakura-chan?' She too spoke in a low voice respecting Shisui's and Itachi's struggle. 'Didn't we read in a scroll that I can bring that soul to life for as long as I can together with the body if my chakra is enough?' Sakura noted looking down at her bare feet.

'Sakura-chan.... Yes we did although it has risks. You are exhausted from the trip and to create a body from scratch will be very stressful on your body.' She tried to warn her against it but she had already made up her mind. She felt indepted to Shisui for all his help and the attitude towards her, so much that she was willing to do anything. Fearfully yet determined she looked up and spoke aloud for everyone to hear,her voice for once not cracking.

"Would you all mind stepping back a bit, please?" She addressed her team guessing that she would need space for this. They stepped back reluctantly, their stares still burning, as she heard Shisui's voice questioning her intentions. She smirked weakly and replied with a "Wait and you'll see idiot.".

She  released several parts of the seal and an unfamiliar white chakra cloaked her body. It swirled around fast and suddenly she could feel her body being torn apart in half. Sakura bit her lip to contain a scream that protested to escape and opened her eyes seeing as a flock of ravens appeared. Concentrating more, she was happy to see them finally uniting into a body.

It's not as if it was a real body with a heart and so on, she knew as much. Rather it was an empty sell that would be able to secure and welcome Shisui's soul. Then the white chakra exploded and in its place standed Shisui with a worn out Kunoichi in his arms that however grinned brightly. Her skin was cut in several places blooding her entire form but she indifferently just let them heal slowly as she excitedly eyed Shisui and Itachi.

Itachi looks wide-eyed at the new visitor not knowing how he should react. He chanted Shisui's name a few times to himself silently  trying to be convinced that he's not dreaming. A playful pat and a minute after, Shisui's attention was on Sakura as he flinched and looked at her in horror.

"Are you a complete idiot, Sakura? What do you think you just did? Do you know how dangerous this can be? What if something happens to yo-" Said girl cut him off starting to gain some of her strength. "Yes mama alrighty. But for now go see that guy over there. He seems to be hyperventilating." She whispered while flashing him an encouraging thumbs up with an idiotic smile plastered all over her face.

He placed her on her weak feet and ran  to Itachi's side. She stumbled but just before falling felt a pair of arms snaking around her shoulders preventing her from faceplanting. Mumbling a "thanks" and she craned her neck to look at the person. She was not surprised when she came face to face with Suigetsu. He gave her a kind yet flirtatious smile and picked her up bridal style. He made her lie down and tucked Sakura in the bed messily making sure it's comfy.

Then Sasuke reminded his presence by sitting by her side. She looked up at him with a not so friendly look flashing weakly Shisui's Sharingan only for them to disappear a second after due to lack of chakra. He hn-ed and scoffed facing the other way. She  then heard Shisui bidding Itachi goodbye and shot up from bed.

"Idiot! I can hold up much longer. Take your time!" Shisui came to her bed's side and pushed her back down roughly. Even tho she tried to resist, Shisui was obviously far stronger than her. "No. You lay down and make sure you get some sleep. I'll go back now and maybe I'll see you tomorrow at the mission." She pouted and he chuckled cheerfully while his body dissolved into ravens again.  She felt tears well up on her eyes again but did her best to avoid crying again. She knew it wasn't her place to cry, she could not even imagine the pain Shisui and Itachi were going through.

Hearing someone clear his troat, she snapped out of her trance and looked  at Itachi who seemed perfectly fine. "Sasuke take Suigetsu and go to your room. Sleep since we need energy for tomorrow." He said not looking away from the bleeding and trembling form. The two addresses shinobis nodded and walked out of the room.

Once they entered their room, Itachi walked towards Sakura slowly. He threw the bed sheets from hee body and picks her up easily. "You must get washed." He said matter-of-factly. Sakura mustered a chuckle before coughing and nodded trying to stand on her own. He sighed and the rest of the night helped her clean up her body and heal her wounds.

A single word was heard in the dead silence once they laid down to sleep. "Thanks." She driftes off into a dreamless sleep thinking she must have done something good for the first time in her life. A smile was visible on her now clean and peaceful face.
