It was late Friday night; Me and some of my friends decided to get some ice cream and chill after taking a really big test that day.
"Ya know, this ice cream is smack. It is REALLY good," Cameron said. Face stuffed with vanilla ice cream. He wasn't really one for crazy flavors and combos, just some plain vanilla or chocolate and he would be fine.
"Stop talking with ice cream in your mouth, cause if you spit on me we are gonna have some problems,"
Cameron's girlfriend, Kaitlyn, is a real charm. Even though she could be a drama queen sometimes she was mostly chill. She is also my inside person on all the drama and stuff that happens inside the school but we don't talk about that.
"You'll still love me though."
"Maybe,"
Cameron started to almost whimper and ate the rest of his ice cream in silence.
"Just kidding, I'll always love you."
Kaitlyn gave him a big hug, it was cute but my lord was it cringe.
"Hey Kaitlyn, I've been thinking about posting more on Instagram, got any ideas?" Last but not least, John, my best friend since the beginning of time. We actually don't remember when we first met but we've known each other for a LONG time.
"You, Instagram?" Kaitlyn chuckled, "Why do YOU want to start posting on Instagram?"
John paused for a moment, having an account was really out of the blue so I don't think he really thought about why he wanted one. "I mean, why not. Everyone has an account-"
I hit his shoulder to remind him I'm sitting right next to him. Obviously this ice cream has frozen a couple brain cells. "OK. Almost everyone has an account nowadays. Plus I get extra clout points." John did a finger gun thing towards Cameron and Cameron did it right back. I still wonder how I'm friends with these two idiots. We all started laughing uncontrollably until it was broken by Cameron's phone ringing, "That's probably my mom, which means I need to get home." He got up and kissed Kaitlyn goodbye and ran off. Cameron doesn't live far from here so he can just walk home.
"I guess I'll head off as well, I have some work to catch up on," Kaitlyn got up and stretched for a minute. "By the way John, if you want to post on Instagram, there isn't really any code or whatever. Just post something and hope it blows up, but keep it trendy." She walked to her car and drove off.
John looked at me for a moment. "You need a ride don't you?"
I nodded yes. There was a Café nearby that I usually stay at after school which is not far from here so I just walked. John sighed, he looked more tired than usual but it was probably just stress blowing off from doing that dumb project.
"Come on, I'll drive you home." We got up and threw our trash away. John's car was, no exaggeration, FREAKING NICE. His uncle had a lot of money and he adores his little John. Little John was a perfect nickname for him, it makes me laugh every time I think about it.
He drove me home and dropped me off. I waved goodbye to him, he smiled, and drove off. The only thing I can remember after that was going to my room and collapsing on my soft bed.
The next morning I got up and drove to school as usual. Everything was normal, as usual. Boring-ish teachers, some homework here and there, and seeing the same people, as usual. However John was acting...strange...today.
Over the next few days John kept up this strange attitude and every time I would try to talk to him about it he would just shrug it off and say "It's nothing. I'm fine. Just don't worry about it." It's not like him to do that, he tells me almost everything. It's one of the reasons we were so close.
