Chapter 1

*10 months after Eva was born*

I wake up to the sound of loud baby cries, I glance over at the clock that reads '7:37'. I slip out of bed, Sam still sound asleep, and shuffle over to Eva's nursery.

"Good morning baby" I smile, and she says something that I can't understand.

I lift her out of her crib, and change her diaper before heading downstairs for breakfast.

"What do we want for breakfast today Eva?" I say, sliding her into her high hair. "How about some yogurt, that sounds good"

I put some milk in her bottle, and start scooping some strawberry yogurt into her Dora bowl.

"Good morning baby" Sam says, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Good morning" I smile, walking over to Eva's high chair.

"And good morning up my baby girl" Sam says, making some funny face to her, causing Eva to giggle.

"Here comes the airplane!" I say, putting a spoonful of yogurt into her mouth, that she gladly eats.

"Nate and I and going to go to the studio for awhile today, and hopefully finish up the new song if that's okay" Sam says, while pouring a cup of coffee.

"Yeah that's fine, Eva and I will probably go over to kaitlyn and jacks place and help her with some wedding planning" I say, feeding Eva some more yogurt.

"Okay, I'm going to hop in the shower" Sam says, placing a kiss on my head before heading up the stairs.

I finish feeding Eva her breakfast, and send kaitlyn a text saying we will be leaving in about 30 minutes.

I put Eva in some leggings and a sweater that has a pink sparky heart on it. I slip on some of her tan ugg boots and set her in the pack and play in Sam and I's room while I get ready.

I out on some black leggings, and a Nebraska pullover hoodie. I straighten my hair and put on a little makeup.

I put some diapers, toys, and bottles into a pink diaper bag for Eva.

"Let's go babygirl" I say, lifting her out of the pack and play.

I strap her into the car seat in my SUV, and head to kaitlyn and Johnson's apartment. I pull up into the apartment complex, and grab Eva, keeping her in the car seat.

I knock a few times on the door, before the door opens revealing jack.

"Hey, Emma" he smiles

"Hey Jack" I smile, setting the baby carrier down.

"Hey Eva" johnson says in a baby voice, and Eva giggles.

"Hey ems" kaitlyn says, hugging me. "And hey there cutie" she says to Eva.

I grab Eva out of her carrier and set her on the carpet with a few if her toys, and jack goes and plays with her.

"Want something to drink?" She asks while I sit down at the table.

"Sure, so how's the wedding planning going?" I ask, and she hands me a Coke.

"It's so stressful, I'm about to pull my hair out" she groans, and I let out a laugh.

"I've been there, and trust me, it gets better" I laugh.

"I just can't decide on anything it's driving me crazy" she chuckles.

"Well I'm here to help" I say.

We do some wedding planning for a few hours, while playing with Eva. I look over at the clock and see that it's already 5.

"We should get going" I say

"Okay, thanks for the help today" she smiles, hugging me.

"Anytime" I smile.

"Bye Eva" she says in a baby voice, waving at her. She mimickes her actions and waves her hand.

I click the carrier into the car and slide into the front seat, and see that I have a text from Sam.

Meet me at the studio, we can get some dinner Sam texts me and I reply with an okay.

I pull up into the parking lot of the studio and grab Eva out, keeping her in the carrier since it looks like she's about to fall asleep.

"Can you tell me where Sam and Nate are recording?" I ask the receptionist.

"Of course, it looks like they are in..studio 3" she says, reading off the computer.

"Thank you" I smile, heading over there.

I get in and see Nate sitting on the couch and Sam recording.

"Hey Nate" I smile.

"Hey Emma, how are you?" He asks, standing up and giving me a hug.

"I've been good" I smile.

Eva starts to cry, so I lift her out of the carrier and rock her in my arms.

"Shhh" I say, continuing to rock her.

Sam exits the recording booth, and she stops crying when she sees him, causing me to let out a laugh.

"Dada!" She exclaims

"Oh my god Sam did you hear that, she said dada" I say excitedly.

"I always knew she was a daddy's girl" he smiles, lifting her out of my arms.

"Ready to go?" I ask

"Yup" he says, putting Eva into her carrier.

We get in the car and head to Chipotle. I order a burrito bowl and Sam orders chicken tacos.

"How was your day?" Sam asks.

"It was good, jack and kaitlyns wedding planning is coming along well" I say "how was the studio?"

"It was great, we actually finished the song" he smiles.

I look over at Eva, who is sound asleep.

"We made a damn cute baby" Sam says

"We did, didn't we" I smile, admiring how peaceful she is.

We finish eating our dinner, and head home.

"I'll go give Eva a bath, you can relax" Sam says.

"Thank you baby" I smile, pecking his lips.

I get in some pajamas and put on 'Greys Anatomy', while curling up into bed.

"She fell asleep right away" Sam chuckles, laying down next to me.

"I'm not surprised, she was playing with johnson all day" I laugh.

Sam wraps his arm around me, while we each watch the show and eventually fall asleep.
