The Reveal (Part 2)

Kana Jirou- Yaoyorozu's POV
"It's here!" I hear my little sister call excitedly from downstairs. "Kana! Come down here for a second!" Now I hear my mom's voice. I shout down "Coming, Mom!" and rush downstairs. I have on an oversized dark purple hoodie and black leggings. Underneath the hoodie, I was wearing a black concert shirt from one of my favorite bands. I make it to the kitchen and see my little sister, Emi, holding and envelope. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a wax seal with the UA High emblem on it. Emi ran over to me, holding out the envelope. I took it and pulled her into a hug. She pulled away and squealed, "Open it!" Just then, my older brother Masako stumbles into the kitchen. He rubs his eyes and squints at Emi and I. "Wake up, Masa!" Emi shouted, jumping out of my arms. He reached out and picked her up. Carrying Emi, Masako walked over to the table. I was still staring at the envelope in my hands. Mom (Momo) was drying her hands on the small towel that sat on the table next to me. As she looked at me, her gaze softened. "Can I open it in my room?" I asked, my voice wavering. "Sure, sweetie." Mom said, smiling. I climbed the stairs to my room, thoughts racing.  Setting the envelope on my desk, I pulled out the chair and sat down. With a deep breath I opened it. A round device flew out onto the desktop. A bright blue light shot out from the top, making me flinch.  "Greetings," a voice said. "Kana Jirou-Yaoyorozu, you have been accepted into UA High School!" After a bit of explanation, the voice said, "See you on Monday, September first! Your class schedule, supply list, and other materials are enclosed in the envelope that this device came in. See you on your first day!" The device beeped, then the light disappeared. After reading through the papers in the envelope that had been thrown aside with the initial shock, I exited my room. I flew down the stairs and ran into the kitchen. My family was staring at me, looking a bit alarmed. I was breathing heavily, and soon smelled vanilla cupcakes. I glanced at the oven, and there they were. "Honey, are you okay?" Mom asked, pulling me from my thoughts. "Yeah. I got in." I said, between breaths. My other mom (Jirou) walked into the kitchen just as I announced my enrollment. "Yay! Great job, Kana!" she said. She walked over to the oven and eyed her wife suspiciously. "Sympathy or congratulatory?" "Congratulatory now!" She responded. Mom took the cupcakes out of the oven as my other mom mixed up frosting. This day was going great! I can't wait for September first.
