Vanished

High School

At lunch Caroline, Ryan, and a few of his friends sit at lunch together at lunch. Caroline is still blabbing on and on about how I want to vanish. "Can't you just let it go?" I ask her. "No! I just don't understand. You have a boyfriend, me, a nice house, good grades, two dogs. You have no reason to vanish," Yes all of that is true. I just haven't told her or Ryan about the bullying. I just don't want them to get worried. "Hey about the school dance tonight, do you guys want to come with me and he boys. We would have three cars." Ryan asked Caroline and me. Crap! I forgot about the dance, it's the prom for crying out loud! I don't even have a dress! "Of course we would love to come!" Really Caroline, you just had to say that!

After lunch Caroline and I have art class, were I told her how I forgot about the prom and don't have a dress. She just stares and me like I am her least favorite person in that moment of time. "Ryan cannot find out, okay? He would kill me!" I whisper to Caroline.
"Well he will find out if you don't go shopping with me right after that final bell rings,"
"But I don't have the money to get a dress,or shoes or anything!"
"My father isn't a millionaire for nothing. We are getting you a dress,"
"It's way too expensive! Your dad would kill you. Yes you are stinking rich, but that won't stop your dad from making it look like an accident,"
" I just got allowance, he will never notice,"

Just before that final bell rang the principle said over the intercoms that prom has been moved to tomorrow night. Yes! I look over at Caroline and she gives me this look that means we're still going shopping. Yay.....
