once they finished setting up the table, cara sat down across from my chair. i had taken another picture on her disposable as she was in awe of the lunch i had ordered, just a bit too fancy but the fondue for dessert was definitely necessary.
"wow." she couldn't take her eyes off the table.
"is your life always this luxurious, z?" she asked.

"i mean, sometimes it's nice to splurge." i shrugged, handing her back the disposable camera.

"no you dip it like this!" she laughed, dipping her strawberry in the chocolate only halfway.
"you're just going to end up double dipping in the end." i showed her how to dip it properly, putting the whole strawberry in and stopping at the top.
"you're just jealous you can't dip like me." she stuck her tongue out.
"love, you've got chocolate on your chin."
i burst out in laughter, she had blushed from embarrassment and wiped it off.
"be quiet it's not funny." she pouted, hiding her face in her hands.

it was quite cute, her sweater sleeves were a bit longer than her arms so she had some sort of sweater paws going on.
"it is a little funny if you ask me." i smiled.
"i'm going to throw chocolate at you."
she said.
"i like my outfit a lot today, it'd be a shame id it had gotten stained."
"i will do it." she tried to give me a serious look but then ended up giggling.
i got up and walked over to her, attacking her tickle spot.

"z-z-zayn!" she screamed out, trying so
hard to speak clearly.
"what's that? i couldn't hear you."
"s-stop that!" she said, and i did stop.
she caught her breath and glared at me, i flashed a smile.
"so you still gonna throw chocolate at me?" i laughed.
"you're not funny." she groaned.

"can i hug you?" he asked.
"of course." i sat up and was engulfed in his arms, inhaling his scent.
"thank you for today, it reminded me to not be so serious all the time." he said, muffled by shoulder.
i wish we could stay like this forever, not having to focus on the real world and just having each other's side.

"i'm getting quite tired, you'll be okay if i head back to my room?" he nodded, we said goodbye to each other. i walked back to my room and fell onto my bed, my stomach had butterflies.
i had forgotten i was wearing his jacket but decided i would just give it to him tomorrow.
i got up and had taken off my makeup, washing my face and doing my skincare routine.

i heard my phone going off and i thought i was liam again but checked my phone anyways.
zayn: i had fun today :)
me: i did too :)
zayn: i wish we could do some more tomorrow but i have to do a few shoots.
me: i'll let you know if i'm free, i'll probably stop by x

i put my phone down and laid down in my bed, closing my eyes just for a few minutes before getting another call but it was from zayn.
"yes?" i asked, sleepy.
"i'm bored now, i tried to take a nap or just sleep so i wasn't tired tomorrow but i can't sleep."
"you can come to my room, since i invaded yours." i laughed.

"i'm at the door." i could hear that he was smiling. i hopped out of my bed and over to the door, fixing my hair in the mirror.
i opened the door and he smiled even bigger, "welcome." i said as he walked in.

"jet lag sucks." i heard him say.
"you know we are only one hour ahead of london right?" i teased.
he scoffed, "i knew that."
it was only around seven-ish in london, but we were out for a while then for the late lunch we had spent a long time talking but that's something i'd love to keep to myself.

"i miss my cat." zayn sighed.
"you're lucky, i travel around too much to own a pet right now."
we both sat on my bed and zayn pulled off the hoodie he was wearing, my phone vibrated in my pocket but i ignored it.
i put it on my nightstand and laid down, looking out the balcony window as all the lights of the city lit up.

zayn climbed into my bed and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into his chest.
"is this okay?" he asked, i nodded.
"words, cara. remember what i said in the studio."
"ugh, yes. it's okay." i rolled my eyes.
he sighed, "words are more valid than just a simple nod of the head."

"i know that." i said softly, nuzzling into his chest as he still had his arms wrapped around me. he was drawing little circles in my back and i wasn't sure if he was asleep yet.
"are you comfortable?" i asked.
"very, these hotel beds are so much better than mine at home." he said halfway into the pillow.
"are you comfortable?" zayn asked.

"yes."
nothing else was said between us, just the two of us in each other's arms until one of us had fallen asleep.
