Jennette shook her head, again and again. She had the guts to ignore this man - the emperor of the Obelia Empire. But does that matter right now? When this person in front of her.

Looks exactly like her mother in the past life.

Her mother was wealthy, had good looks, and supported her in any way she can. But she was against her transferring to a not-so prestigious school in the countryside when she was in high school.

Every time she saw her mother was when; working in her dark and gloomy office, always had piled up documents everywhere. Not paying her any attention. Yes, she supported her,

With money.

Soo Hyun was smart and was a very clever lady in her past life. She deserved much better than attending school in the countryside, which was what her mother said.

Her mother was always against any idea that doesn't benefit the family. She watched Soo Hyun's every move at home and always had her report cards directly on her computer.

It was worse.

So Soo Hyun had no choice but to be a filial daughter that she wasn't used to be.

But she was fed up with it.

What are smarts if you can't use it to talk back to her mother and say, "Mom can't you at least spend the night here?" Or at least, "Can we have a family vacation this weekend?"

But Soo Hyun couldn't muster up the courage to spill out those words and remained calm and smiling still as her mother enters the car and went away, waving her hand like how a good daughter is supposed to be.

Always working on some documents and hadn't had much time spending or should we say, waste her time on a mere family bonding.

Her brother and she weren't as close as they were before. They didn't talk much every meal and only interacted when it's necessary. Family meals three times a day was much worse than rolling on muddy ground or her. It was suffocating. Her brother was always on his phone so her mother. Not even finishing the dish she cooked happily for her family, it was infuriating and frustrating.

Her mother always interrupted in her social life and forced payable people to become her friends. Because people who have no background are unnecessary for her, her mother said.

It was disgusting. A pretentious thing such as this wasn't fun at all. Well, at least she was good at acting in front of these gold-digging people. Who only agreed to become her friends with money.

Who needs money if they are used like this? Who needs jewels and expensive clothes when even your mother wouldn't care to look at you wearing it saying, "Wow! It looks good on you, dear!"

But instead, a cold voice saying, "Here... a check, buy anything you want with it."

Her real father was the same as long as her brother said. But he died when she was young so she didn't have the slightest clue about this person because her mother won't even bother telling them anything.

She moved out one day, yelling curses at her mother. She took her savings with her and small luggage and moved to the countryside.

It will be very hard to persuade the principal at her school to let her transfer because he said, "Let me ask your mother first"

What a jerk.

She even explained everything to him and told her about her fight with her mother. Saying she wants to be away for a while. But this money sucker of a principal didn't even understand her sorry situation and just added salt into her wound.
