I placed my one inch bronze pyramid on my dresser. I dropped the empty cardboard box on the floor and kicked it aside. I only had one box left to unpack. I'd spent most of Friday and today unpacking. I sauntered over to my bed and wiped some packing peanuts off the mattress.

I sighed. Friday night, and I'm stuck inside. Back in Kentucky, I would usually be out with my best friend Cherry. Or my boyfriend Jason. Jason is Cherry's brother. I remember one Friday night, the night I met Jason. It was Halloween. The year before. Jason was a junior and Cher and I were sophomores. We were in Cherry's room in the basement, getting ready to go to party. It was the first night I had ever spent the night at her house. And Jason came running down the stairs. He was shouting something at Cher. And then she shouted something back. Then she introduced him to me. He went with us to the party. We end up talking all night. Two weeks later, he became my boyfriend.

I sighed at the memory.

As if feeling my depression, a quiet knock came at the door. My older sister Harley walked in. She wore a tight red mini-skirt and a black holster top. Gold bangles and a gold chain complimented her outfit.

"Wanna go to a party?" I must have looked like a dear in head lights, because she continued, "While you've been sitting in here moping around, I was flirting it up with the neighbor next door. He goes to a boarding school in England. And he goes back when the summer ends. So he's throwing a going away party. And he invited us!"

I shook my head, "Us?"

Harley had moved to my vanity mirror and was applying fire red lipstick, "Well me. But you need to get out of the house Lydia!"

I sighed and checked the time on my cell phone, "Where are mom and Richie?"

"The lab. They won't be back till Wednesday,"

I thought for a moment. I needed to get out. But being around people I didn't know didn't really appeal to me at the moment.

After of few minutes of silence, Harley squealed, "Plleeaassee!"

I huffed loudly, "Fine!"

She squealed again, and ran over to my closet. "What are you gonna wear?"

I stood and looked down at my clothes. I wore black skinny jeans and a Ghost Town T-shirt.

She turned to look at me and made a face. "I guess you can wear that..."
