This period spans around eight hundred years. This was another period of change for the Aeoni and Zerini across the known world. At the end of the last age, cities had slowly begun the process of developing alliances between each other through the use of treaties, to try and build a better, more homogeneous society. Despite there being relative peace, there had been recent disasters including a severe earthquake in the region where Denworthy was located, in 980 CE, where hundreds had been in killed and injured in the aftermath. There was a famine in 983 CE after a bad harvest, affecting many Zerini, but also some Aeoni. In 985 three fishing ships were lost by a storm, losing all the life but also the food caught to the deep waters, and then less than two years later another ship was lost after it was attacked by one of the leviathan creatures, destroying it, the life on board and the cargo. They had even tried hunting the creature with a group of three ships in 990 CE and not even one returned. It was just another issue added with another subsequent famine in 990 that made it a difficult year for many especially as food was one of the ways they made their livelihood. Denworthy was particularly affected in these years, with some deciding to leave in fear of suffering another earthquake, moving to the city of Rodar. It was a massive change from living underground to a sprawling city that shared some values in terms of religion and worship, as well as leadership but was very different in the way they lived. Unlike Denwothy that had no Aeoni, Rodar had a small Aeoni population living in its walls. The other startling difference was that they traded, bartered and bought things in the marketplace while Denworthy for the most part everything was shared. What made it also difficult was that they still had yet developed a stable currency but many city-states had different ideas for a currency, despite they had alliances between them, they still had different views. It was only in the year 1025 CE, the Aeoni cities had finally all merged and formed into a republic, called the Caenum Republic, as it was the first sea-faring state in the world, easily surpassing the Zerini. The Zerini had discussions between all the different groups for a long time and had even sent emissaries to Skyfall, and had been refused several times across the span of two years. They finally allowed them to come in 1028 CE, and then there was a final decision made, dated in early 1029, where Skyfall joined in the alliance. Five years later they became the Rodar Republic with Rodar as the capital. It was only then though that they started to develop a standard currency, and this again took time but finally came to fruition and it was crystal marks as the highest currency, then gold marks, silver, and finally copper. The last three were the most common. The two nations agreed to it and it was across the board it was accepted in all cities. The only city that it did not include was Nightshade that was still under rebellious rule. Of course, there had been attempts at trying to negotiate with Nightshade. They flat out refused to speak with Zerini, and same for the Aeoni. Deel Rusrike led the Caenum Republic and Taia Gal led the Rodar republic as the first leaders of their respective nations. It led to the rise of governors who helped lead their respective cities except Rodar and Westport which were the chosen capital cities.
After the formation of both republics things started to slowly change again, and in positive ways. There was a rise in education such as; philosophy, science, mathematics, became wider known throughout the cities. It led to schools being more readily accessible, as well as teaching medicine and various other subjects. The first university appeared in Acornwatch in 1034 CE, and it was a monumental thing as it allowed both Aeoni and Zerini to study within its walls, costing around a gold mark per semester, or 100 silver marks. Technology changed and there was a great revelation that crystals were far more beneficial than they ever thought possible. It turned out that crystals could actually be used as power sources. Crystals were not infinite in power source though as they could be drained, and their colour was drained leaving it a dulled grey crystal, that actually became worthless. The revelation also added so much more to the economy as the desire was for the best crystals. Drained and used crystals were useless since they could not power anything anymore. There were other positive changes made, with the development of carrack ships in 1045 CE, that gave more stability to ships and this paved the way for more safety when travelling across the waters to give better protection to fishing ships that were also built sturdier. Westport had become the largest city with over a hundred thousand inhabitants, and had become a major trading hub; other cities along the coast had grown large but not yet to the size of Westport. The other large change was the creation of a professional legal system that was implemented across both nations that was also agreed upon by both nations, to ensure that it was fair from city to city so anyone breaking the law would be given a fair voice rather than being seeded in corruption, since before hand, the justice system was out of balance. Though there were not that many known criminals other than the syndicate.
