I watched the black haired person below me,they seemed to be walking through the forest. My eyes narrowed as I covered up my nen so that they wouldn't notice me. Every once in a while they would turn around like they were looking for something,they then continued on walking.

On the count of three!

One!

I clutched my knife even tighter than before.

Two!

I took in a deep breath.

Three!

I jumped down from the tree as I thrusted my knife towards them while disabling In,however they put up a row of fire to protect themselves. "Eh?!" I screamed as I jumped back"ah...f*ck..."I muttered under my breath clutching my now burnt arm. I shook my head as I went for the 'kill' once more,however they were gone. I looked around desperately trying to find them,before I knew it I felt a arm on me and a sizzling sound. I teleported away into a near by tree,my breathing had become a little ragged.

"I know you aren't done yet?" They purred as I growled slightly looking at my arm which was now severely burned. Mom is gonna murder Alex...

I then jumped down and ignored the burning. "Not yet!" I yell as I teleport behind them and land a kick on them,making their body hit the ground. They let out a soft grunt of pain while I placed my foot on their torso in victory.

"I win." I smile down at the short black haired enby"you won! That's a first." They exclaim as I take my foot off of them,I slip my knife into my knife holder which currently rested on my thigh. I pull them up as they walk over to where the medical bag and our belongs are.

They grabbed the white board marker and laid down a tally on my side. "Your first win!" They say closing the marker and placing a hand on my shoulder"congrats!"

"It's pathetic that this is my first win." I sulk"it'll be ok." Alex smiles at me"here,let me help you out." They say opening the medical bag and pulling out some supplies as i sit on a tree stump near by.

I've known Alex for a few months now,they ended up stopping by the store a few months bag wanting some treats. When they walked in the day I was working,I felt a strong aura and asked about it,and since then they became my Nen teacher. Alex is non-binary and they're super nice...well during training their kinda pushy and mean BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT! Alex is a transmuter,obviously they use fire.

"Ow..."I muttered as they slapped a gauze on the burn"toughen up,how did you pass the Hunter's Exam?" They joke"you're not funny." They roll their eyes"I know!" They smile sticking their tongue out.

Alex has short black hair,pale skin,green eyes and freckles which are placed on their cheeks.

"My mother is going to kill you". They nod"I know,she already doesn't like me being your teacher." I shrug"eh,I like you. That's all that matters." They zip up the medical bag and once done throw it over their shoulder and grab their personal bag while I do the same.

"I'll walk you home. Maybe you're mom will give me some bread?" I let out soft laugh"I doubt it,good luck though."

Since the Hunter's Exam,I've improved a lot.

I open the shop door to see my mom wishing the costumer a nice day. Quickly it is just us 3 in the room. "Y/N,I missed you hon." My mom tells me as she looks to Alex"and...you..."Alex waved with a smile"nice to see you to. Hey,since your child isn't dead-"they go over to my mom"perhaps I can get a treat~?" My mom glares at them"absolutely not. You just be lucky I'm letting my daughter hang out with someone who has no gender." I bit my tongue trying to not say a thing"you know there are others like me,right?"
