"it sounds gross."

"cmonnn. we wont know unless we try?"

you groaned as reggie jumped up towards the kitchen, you following not long after.

"okay you have the bell pepper, cream cheese, and..." his voice trailing off as he searched your pantry for the third ingredient. "aha! takis. you're ready to go."

you stared at the items in doubt before pursing you lips.

"are you sure i should try it? i think you should go first."

"y/n... hellooo? im a ghost remember? cant touch things." he wafted his hands through the kitchen table to prove his point.

"i mean you can if you really concentrate??" you suggested, hope coated in your voice.

he gave you a look.

you sighed in defeat and started to cut the bell pepper. 

"i honestly dont know why this was made up in the first place. what kind of monster would eat takis with cream cheese?? im concerned." you shook your head is disbelief.

"well, i like spicy stuff. i like bell peppers. cream cheese. why not put them together?" he shrugged and smiled.

you laughed while putting the cream cheese into the vegetable.

"anddd done! okay now time to eat it..." you winced and stared at the weird food combination.

"uh y/n? this is the part where you put it in your mouth. not stare at it like it's some kind of posion hotdog that will kill you... or is it," his eyes quickly widen as he stared at it like it was giving him flashbacks.

"very funny. that's only making this worse. now i definitely dont want to eat it, bleh."

you placed it down on the plate and fake gagged.

"look, it shouldnt be too bad since the people on the internet all like it. and you know what they say, the internet is always right!!" he replied with confidence.

you rose an eyebrow.

"i dont think you know what the internet is... but youre right. i can try one bite. but only one bite," you warned, and his hands went up in surrender.

you took a deep breath and bit in.

"so? how is it? is it as yummy as everyone says? oh! does the takis even out the-"

before he could continue, you ran over to the sink and threw up.

"oh my gosh y/n are you okay?" reggie rushed to your side and patted your back.

"y-yeah im... im fine. my taste buds arent though," you joked and took a minute to recollect yourself.

"im so sorry. i shouldnt- i wasnt thinking about how you would react. i guess i kinda forgot what food tastes like," he sheepishly chuckled.

"no its okay. that was fun making it. it didnt taste bad until and few bites in."

a comfortable silence passed as you noticed his small thumb rotations on your back. you impulsively decided to lean onto him while you finish catching your breath.

he awkwardly shifting his feet and you felt your face getting hot as the silence was no longer comfortable. 

"s-sorry again. i won't make you do stuff you dont want to anymore."

you can hear the guilt in his voice.

"reggie, dont be sorry. it's no big deal. to be honest, the idea of food combinations isn't bad. but maybe next time we can try something without one of them being spicy."

you looked up and saw his face light up as an idea popped into his head.

"ooo next we should try something completely different! like... how about pineapple, mayo, and oreos?" he clapped his hands and pointed to you, waiting for your reaction.

you blink at his a couple times before laughing.

"does that even sound like a smart idea, reginald?"

"oh i know the answer to this one: yes!"

"...you're lucky you're cute."

"you think im cute?"

"oh shut up."
